La Fortuna to us felt very commercialized, so we were searching for something truly authentic, off the beaten path, and away from the typical tourist traps. This cooking class at La Finca Farm was the absolute perfect solution! From start to finish, the entire experience was magical. Our fabulous guide, Gabrielle, picked us up directly from our hotel and took us to a gorgeous, picture-perfect farm setting. We started with a wonderful short tour where we got to pick fresh fruits and spices right from the source. The cooking lesson itself was fun and delicious, and the lovely Marcella made the class incredibly engaging and fun. And we even got a give away apron. We learned so much about the local cuisine and thoroughly enjoyed every single bite. If you want to experience real Costa Rican hospitality and flavor, this is an absolute must-do in La Fortuna. We cannot recommend it highly enough!
We had a pleasant time. We loved the visit to the farm and the guide's explanations. The dishes we prepared were simple and excellent, and we can recreate them. I recommend this experience to immerse oneself in the culture of Costa Rica. Pura Vida!
This was one of the best parts of our family trip to Costa Rica. Our group of 10 included people from age 9 to 80. Jacamar did a fantastic job from pick-up to drop off and everything in between. We received a brief yet thorough and interesting history & geography lesson on our drive over to the farm. This experience may not be for everyone, but we enjoyed every second, from picking and learning about the plants, the actual cooking lesson (outdoors, but covered) and then eating the fresh, delicious meal we had cooked. I honestly can’t say enough. Highly recommend!
Pura Vida! This class was simply delicious, and I am so glad we did this class. I love cooking, and I love cooking with locals, because that's the best experience ever. Our chef, Alicia. She did not speak English, and we had a translator. However, she was so kind, and we had a great time. She was patient, she gave me several compliments, due to my cooking skills. She was so sweet, and you can see her passion and her love for cooking coming through her personality. It's so imperative to learn different cultural dishes from a local. Another aspect of this cooking class is called from farm to table. Everything that was made was grown there, fresh, and you can tell with the taste. What a great lesson. If you come to Costa Rica, I would suggest you take this class. Another special touch was getting an apron. Thank you again! After the cooking, we sat down and ate our delicious food that was made with lots of love. After our dinner, we had our Night Walk at La Finquita.

You learn a lot of great cooking techniques! The guide was very informative and taught us a lot about the farm before we cooked.

The class was lovely. We especially enjoyed the farm tour and picking our ingredients. The cooking itself went smoothly and the food was delicious!
Fantastic hands on cooking class!! Enjoyed the explanation of the farm to table and picking our vegetables and herbs. The juice, and sauces we tried prior to preparing our meal were delicious. We appreciated the "hands on" interactive experience of preparing the meal which was delicious!! Buen Provecho!! As an aside, I forgot my hat and sunglasses and they got them to me...talk about service and going above the call of duty!!! Be mindful thar the description of the class says you will go home with new recipes. They literally dont give you recipes (which I would LOVE) but the techniques and pictures will be great help when we search these recipes at home

We really enjoyed this experience. Dionis picked us up from our hotel and shared his knowledge of the farm before we prepared a delicious meal together. We were all fully involved in the preparation and cooking,and it was really fun. We also appreciated how easily our family’s dietary restrictions were easily accommodated. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic Costa Rican experience!

Our private cooking class with Alicia was truly such a special and unforgettable experience. Hands down the BEST thing we did during our time in Costa Rica! Alicia was absolutely amazing and made the entire experience so fun, personal, and memorable. The food was incredible, and getting to see the farm and learn about how they grow all of the crops made it even more unique and meaningful. You can really tell how much love and passion goes into everything they do. We had the absolute best time ever and could not recommend this experience more!
