We had an amazing time on this excursion. It was so. Ice to get away from the bustle of the city. We received such a warm welcome to the farm, starting with mint tea and pastries. The cooking class was so much fun. Simple instructions and very hands on. We learned so much about the ingredients all of which were organic and from the farm. As we waited for the tajine to finish we got a tour of the farm. Lots of animals, especially horses. As well are walking among the fruit and olive trees. Lunch when ready was amazing, so flavourful! It was so nice to spend time and be welcomed by this gracious family. Would highly recommend this to anyone!
Thank you for the nice experience on your farm. We cooked two basic tagines (chicken and vegetable) and had some mint tea. And Khaoula showed us the farm with a peacock, horses, sheep and chicken. All in all it was a nice experience, but pretty basic. Don't expect fancy stuff. It's just like sitting in a friends garden, drinking a tea, eating some food and relaxing under lemon trees.
Thank you for your feedback, Theresa! We're really glad to hear you enjoyed your experience and your time at the farm. Our goal is to offer a relaxed, authentic experience that feels just like visiting a friend’s garden, with good conversation and delicious food at the heart of it, so we’re happy that came through for you. Thank you for visiting, we hope to welcome you back again sometime in the future!
My husband and I had an incredibly fantastic day and lunch with Khaoula. We were taught at her family 's farm where we stood under citrus and olive tree and cooked authentic Moroccan tangia , one with chicken and the other with vegetables . Khaoula was incredibly charming and skilled at learning from herself , her knowledge of the many spices we will need in the future . We learned a lot about the country and the many many little details in the Moroccan cuisine. Thanks for the recipes and the tip on the salt fermenting lemons. Can warmly recommend 👍
A beautiful setting with amazing fresh produce. Khaoula is a gifted teacher and chef. Her passion and desire to share her knowledge, culture and Moroccan cuisine is what makes the class special and inspiring. The farm setting adds a unique atmosphere. Highly recommend Khaoula cooking class. Go hungry!!
My wife and I were only in Marrakech for a few days, but we knew we wanted to learn more about the cuisine that is famous around the world: warm spices, fresh ingredients, generous hosts. We were picked up from our Riad in the Medina and driven to the farm outside of the city. The drive from Place el Moukef was around 30 minutes, which gave us an opportunity to see more of the outside of the city. Khaoula welcomed us with mint tea, and we set off cooking right away outside, as the weather was very nice and temperate that day. Not only did we cook, but we also learned the right way of prepping the ingredients to be aesthetically pleasing when opening the tajine. We cooked three dishes: A chicken tajine with onions and preserved lemon, a vegetable tajine, and a warm Moroccan salad with smoke-grilled aubergine and peppers. All of the dishes featured the same spices, but always in different amounts. It was interesting to experience what a difference the respective blend made to the dish. We concluded the meal with what can only be described as the most simple but tasty dessert, oranges with cinnamon. What a delight! I recommend buying cinnamon in Morocco, as the local one is very aromatic (I now have 300 grams to use up, and boy, do I have ideas!). And why not get some ras el-hanout freshly ground from the market as well! Khaoula also answered all of our questions about life and travel in Morocco: What places are interesting to visit and what foods can be had there. We will definitely be back for more. Thanks again for the wonderful time!
We loved this experience with our family. Set on a beautiful farm surrounded by olive and citrus trees, the atmosphere was lovely. We made a full Moroccan meal including chicken tajine, vegetable tagine and salad. Great food, and very well organized. Instructions and recipe were provided, we will be trying to replicate once at home. Khaoula was patient and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time away from the business of Marrakech. Would highly recommend!!
This was truly a unique cooking experience. I learned so much, not just from the cooking, but from the tour of the farm. Khaoula was very knowledgeable, her English was excellent and she was a very patient teacher. She taught us to make the three favorite things I had eaten since being in Morocco –zealouk ( warm salad), cold Moroccan salad and Berber chicken tajine. Everything was delicious and I can’t wait to try the recipes that she sent to us. I would definitely recommend this class. Transportation was provided to and from the class and both drivers were excellent and very kind!
Excellent time sharing in the heart of a farm, quiet and with excellent vegetables grown on site. Khaoula is adorable, we had a delicious time with her and learned 3 delicious recipes!
It was a great experience with our cook Khaoula, in the most amazing location at farm near Marrakesh
