What a blast!

On our first full day in Costa Rica, we attended this cooking class and we had such a good time!! The first order of business was to concoct our first coktail under the supervision of Chef Scott Bradley which set the mood for the rest of the class. The next four hours went by in a flash as we prepared two appetizers, two main courses and a dessert with locally grown or sourced ingredients. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and many entertaining anecdotes were shared. Chef Scott provided tips on techniques. The third floor kitchen was open to the surrounding area which provided additional entertainment in the form of monkeys playing in the trees across the road. At the end of four hours we were stuffed with delicious food and sad to have our time with the chef come to an end. We are looking forward to receiving the recipes as promised, because we are anxious to try them out at home. We highly recommend this experience. It was well worth the cost! Our only regret is that due to time restraints, we did not get a chance to check out Chef Scott's restaurant in La Fortuna.

One of our Best Experiences Ever!

This was such an amazing experience! My wife & I and our two adult daughters agree it was one of our best experiences ever. First, the location is amazing! The kitchen and dining room are on the top floor, high on a hill overlooking all of La Fortuna with 360 degree views of the volcano and surrounding area. We saw parrots, toucans and so many other birds during the cooking experience. Scott and his staff are extremely gracious hosts. We first learned how to make Mojitos, and enjoyed those while we cooked. As an appetizer we made Ceviche and Patacones with black bean puree... soooo good! For the main course we cooked two dishes; Nut crusted Tilapia with a mango salsa, and marinated pork shoulder over fruit chutney. Lastly, we cooked bananas foster and we have an amazing photo of my daughter cooking the bananas over the stove with fire. After cooking each course we all sat down with our drinks and enjoyed the amazing food and were continually entertained by Scott and his staff. They also have a dog rescue on the property and my daughters loved meeting many of the furry friends they have on the back property. The whole experience felt very relaxed and fun. It lasted about 4 hr total.

Fantastic class, great host, amazing location and a chance to play with some wonderful pups if you are so inclined!

I went with my wife, son (20) and daughter (18). We had a fantastic time. Scott is a fantastic (and patient) cook, with great teaching skills. We made a delicious 3 course meal and what do you know…. I actually learned several new and useful skills. All of, including my kids really enjoyed it. Icing on the cake is that Scott also runs a dog sanctuary and we were blessed to be able to play with several VERY affectionate pups. My daughter was trying to figure out how to smuggle out (Sha)Kira and Bones but had to settle for giving them lots of loving. The location is PHENOMENAL with million dollar views. We looked out over a valley and could see 10+ miles to the beautiful horizon. ¡Muchas Gracias Scott y Pura Vida! Highly recommended.

Number one Cooking class in Costa Rica!

This cooking course was AMAZING from the beginning to the end! Chef Scott took the time to make sure each of us felt included and involved. He introduced us to safety techniques and cutting skills that chefs use in their practice for speed and efficiency. We made five star quality meals that the finest restaurants would serve all while in a setting that included views of Toucans, tree turkeys and many other beautiful and exotic birds as well as the volcano. Throughout the meal we were pampered with delicious specialty drinks of our choice from his assistant Charlie, that flowed throughout the evening. This is a must do experience for anyone looking for a wonderful atmosphere and adventure.

Awesome cooking experience

So before we get started about the experience itself it’s worth shouting out chef Scott who started the dog rescue and adoption service in the area. Whilst we were having our cooking experience there were also a family who’d volunteered to look after the local residents! We did the tropical cooking experience which runs with between 2 and 6 people (there were just the two of us). As foodies we always try and experience a bit of local culture and Chet Scott didn’t disappoint- a delicious meal of ceviche, fried plantain, marinated pork, nut crusted sea bass and flambée bananas over four hours with a continuous flow of mojitos. Fantastic experience which we would definitely recommend.

Fun and delicious!

We had so much fun at this cooking class! This type of activity is not our norm on vacation- because, who wants to cook on vacation? But we are so glad we decided to do it. Chef Scott was gracious when we hit traffic and showed up late. He quickly got us started with making (fabulous) mojitos and creating our 3 courses. While I'm not much of a chef, haha, my husband has cooked most of his life and still learned many techniques that we've already been using at home. All of the foods we made were fantastic with balanced flavors. Throughout the class, Chef Scott would point out a bird call, and we'd step outside to see toucans. The views of the volcanoes were also spectacular even on a rainy day. This class is a great way to spend a day in the La Fortuna/Arenal area!

A lot of fun in a professional kitchen

So much fun! Great setting in a professional kitchen with incredible views. Chef Scott and Charlie were excellent hosts, providing seemingly bottomless smoothies for the three hour session. Time flew under the chefs, patient instruction, giving direction and corrections with humor and positive feedback. The rescue dogs who kept us company were a plus. This was one of the best events during my trip to Costa Rica.

Even if you can cook - Go!

We were very lucky to get a private class here with Scott. Such a good afternoon - very relaxed yet productive! A fantastic three course lunch that we ate as we went along. Rain so no volcano view but saw plenty of toucans flying around 😊 and enjoyed our mojitos too, courtesy of Charlie. Highly recommend for something a bit different to the trails and waterfalls! If you like dogs it’s even better 😂
