We spent close to an hour going through the process of obtaining tickets. Lots of walking before we got started. The tour was not a tour. We stood in two places right inside the entrance with our guide while he gave us information. We did not move anywhere else. The information was informative but to be honest, we could have done this on our own with an audio tour. It was not a guided tour as described. After the Colesseo, you are basically on your own. We paid 150 euros per person for this tour and were extremely disappointed.
Tour changed often and areas listed were not included in the tour but could look at on our own. I could have just done the tour on my own.
Lovely experience and support from Ali India.
The meeting point people were a bit hard to find. We got to our tour and they told us it was gonna start past our tour time and that we would go to Rome's oldest prison then the coliseum and Roman forum/palatine hill. It was quite far from the coliseum but right next to the forum. We arrived at the prison and they told us to wait. We waited for an hour and a half until they told us what was going on. They said the coliseum overbooked and that we wouldn’t get in for another 2 hours. We already had another tour booked near that time. They told us we can walk through palatine hill/the forum then go to the coliseum and that we could enter the coliseum 20min before the time on the ticket or a refund. We decided to try our luck with the first option but half way through realized we would be late to our next appointment and asked for a partial refund. They were insistent to use the other option and we were very frustrated with the poor communication and when we got to the coliseum they told us we could only enter 15 minutes before so our people were untruthful about the rules so they wouldn’t have to refund us. Plus we got no tour guide it was just entry. We understand things happen out of their control but we spent a lot of money on this tour and the whole time they were not communicating to us about the situation and being very pushy about taking they alternative option even told us to “not stress”. It wasted a lot of our time that day and we had to rush to our next appointments. To say the least we were not happy with our experience and I would not recommend this company.
I suggest No One should go to this tour with this operator. Zero value for the tourist and zero worth. My trip was supposed to start at 4 PM and they kept pushing it to 4.15 then 4.30 and kept me waiting until 5 so that more were added. I was charged 180 euros and others were charged 90 euros. Total ripoff. AVOID this agent.
This was painful. I would suggest any other tour company. They tell you they have a great addition to the tour in that you get to speed walk in the heat to where your ticket is, a half a mile up the busy road where you get to see a Roman prison. Basically an empty room in the ground. It was uninteresting at best. The guide, Marco was annoyed with pretty much the whole group. Didn’t seem to like Americans or women. Very thick accent and seemed rushed. When I asked a tour related question during the “5 minute break” he told me “this is not a private tour.” Which apparently meant, don’t ask questions when the group is not gathered around him. I thought he was joking. He wasn’t. One lady caught the brunt of this guides hostilities. This was advertised as a private tour. It is not. It’s a small group (about 8 people). You couldn’t pay me to do this one again. We usually tip tour guides, not a single person tipped this guide, but I’d like to give him one tip: Get a different job, this one is not for you.
Had a great guided tour with Andreea Harasim, just for our family of four. This became a walk of dialogue instead of just a single talk from the guide. I recommend asking about getting Andreea as a guide if you are a family!
Thank you for your kind words! We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed the Colosseum tour . We truly appreciate your feedback , and we’ll be looking into ways to improve that for future tours. We hope to welcome you again soon for another amazing experience! Thank you so much
