A very interesting journey, our tour guide Angie was very attentive. Everything was well organized from the beginning.
Bad experience. Mixed up guides, hot bus, miscommunication by Pachakutik Tours on pick up times/place, missed breakfast, without a guide for half the excursion.
This is an essential tour whether you are in Arequipa or Puno; You can start in one city and finish it in the other and thus make more use of your time. I booked it with Yoana who was attentive to us at all times: from the moment I planned it in Spain and until the last moment in Peru. It is a charm. I liked getting to know the Peruvian highlands, flora and fauna...taking photos of Andean birds like flamingos or watching the condor fly!... and taking selfies with the Andean camelids...llamas, alpacas. Feel the experience of being at more than 4000m altitude at those latitudes... Bathing in waters over 40 degrees with hail outside...and many more experiences
Beautiful places to visit and definitely a must! The rating is for the tour operator rather than the attractions. Pros for patchupatik tour - 1. The guides were knowledgeable and passionate of the attractions (fyi - these guides are from a different tour operators; none of them have heard of patchupatik) Cons - patchupatik tour was disorganised. We had a lot of stress! 1. Pickup was late 30 mins. Eventually a taxi picked us up, went to 2 petrol stations for refuelling and drove over 1.5 hours to catch up with the tour bus. 2. Yoana advised that our hotel was colca canyon hostel but they didn't have our bookings. It transpired to be colca andina inn instead! 3. Next day's trip to Arequipa, we had to asked the hotel to call the bus operator to confirm our pick ups. 4. No one contacted us from patchupatik to provide us with updates / explanations for the whole 2 days!
