Clearbottom Mangrove Kayak & Snorkel Tour

Description

Good guide and great trip
Beautiful kayak trip across Lac Caį and through the mangroves. Gets a good idea of the beautiful surroundings. Nice guide who tells a thing or two about the area along the way. Open bottom of kayak little added value given murky water. Snorkeling through mangrove fun addition. Visibility a bit cloudy but despite the necessary fish and turtle seen. Road to rendezvous point very bumpy. With pickup doable but take a moment for it. Flamingos along the way.
Fabulous! Our guide was spectacular, the mangroves were beautiful - we saw turtles and fish and learned so much about the ecosystem. Highly recommend!
Super fun tour, great guide and accessible for all ages. Have enjoyed it immensely!
Excellent experience. Pick up was smooth, the guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Saw lots of exciting marine life as well as some land animals on the drive. The memories will far outlive the small cost of this excursion.
I was doing research prior to coming to Bonaire for the first time. This was one of the trips people recommended. So I decided to drive to the meet up point. That road is bumpy lol. Takes longer because of the bumps. However, it’s paradise once you get there. You look at the water and see turtles popping their heads out of the water. They are not like the turtles in the ocean I encountered. These turtles run from you. The turtles in the ocean swim right by you. So the tour operators check us in and the men help get the kayaks in the water. We get the oars. They offer u bottled water, dry bag and snorkel gear. They give you a quick rundown on the mangroves and what you can and cannot do. I found it to be amazing. You do get bit sometimes by mosquitoes. You can’t bring bug spray or sunscreen. However u can put it on prior to going. We stop and snorkel through the mangrove and that’s where I encountered a huge turtle trying to get the fish. lol. We saw upside down jellyfish. Then snorkel back to our kayak. We end back up at the meeting point. We get the kayaks out of the water. We get fruit punch and a snack. I decided I wanted to go back in the water so they have a small beach and bathrooms are $1 to use and it looks like a small place to eat. I snorkeled and saw small turtles. The water looked crystal clear but when you snorkel it’s cloudy. It might be the sand or the salt. But it’s a beautiful beach. I would recommend this tour. First tour for our tour guide and he rocked it. Clear bottom mangrove kayaking and snorkel tour. Note: you really don’t look at the bottom because you are using the oar the whole time lol.
When anyone asks my favorite part of my trip to the ABC islands, the answer is easy: the kayak tour through the mangroves led by Youri. It's not even close. This was an amazing experience from go to whoa. I am out of shape and not outdoorsy yet I was able to keep up. Youri was attentive, funny (so so so funny), kind, and knowledgeable. We saw flamingoes and donkeys on the drive in (it's bumpy, so be prepared!), I got to pet a dog once we got there, had a great time kayaking around, and the juice and stroopwafel after was a nice touch. Have I said that Youri rules? Because he does.
It was great fun and interesting. 2 very funny and amazing guides.
My husband and I enjoyed the Mangrove tour. Our guide was wonderful and provided detailed information about the different trees and how they are essential to the area. Near the end, we got out and snorkled through the mangroves. It was incredible to see all of the sponges and schools of fish near the roots. As a bonus, you can see the flock of flamingos near the Mangrove Center. If choosing to drive out on your own, the road is unpaved and rough.
It’s absolutely worth it. Good value.
