Description

Our tour took us to some of the most amazing places in Sri Lanka. We were met on our first day when we arrived in Colombo by our driver and guide Aruna Silva. He was quite simply the perfect guide. He was very professional at all times very sociable as well, and his knowledge and understanding of the places we visited enhanced our visit at all times. He also made certain that we were well looked after at all of the excellent hotels. That feeling of security made our trip all the more enjoyable. He also gave us space to do our own thing and follow our own lead which again was invaluable. The tour took us to all the main visitor sites and activities. So we went to an early morning fish market in Negombo before driving up to Sigiriya. First a wild elephant Safari and then after a good night's rest and early start to climb the Sigiriya rock in the cool of the morning. It is a spectacular challenge but very safe and very well organized. During a tour we visited historic temples which were both stunning and full of history. Kandy it's a beautiful town with a wonderful botanical garden. A memorable train ride to Hatton in the heart of the tea plantations. Waterfalls of spectacular size and a lunchtime visit to the wonderful Grand hotel Nuwara Eliya. A real taste of the colonial lifestyle. A visit to a tea factory and a chance to experience tea plucking for yourself. A TUK TUK ride with spectacular views of the hills surrounding Haputale. Yala nature reserve under Safari you will never forget. So many sites and different experiences that will leave you with memories to last you a lifetime. Aruna Silva our guide was with us every step of the way and made our tour into a real journey of Discovery. He made every day a delight and always took time to both show us sights and to make sure we understood the significance of the places we visited and saw. If you are lucky enough to meet Aruna as your guide I can guarantee you your trip to beautiful Sri Lanka will be nothing but greatly enhanced.
