Notre premier arrêt est Chichen Itza. Nous arriverons à peu près à l'heure d'ouverture, donc en plus d'avoir le site archéologique pour vous-même, vous éviterez également la chaleur. Un guide certifié multilingue (+ - 1 1 / 2h) vous expliquera les Itzáes, les anciens habitants de Chichén Itzá, leur impressionnant château de Kukulcán de 30 m de haut (et son calendrier solaire qui s'y reflète), le plus grand terrain de balle de La Méso-Amérique et le temple des guerriers. Après la visite guidée, vous disposerez de + - 1 heure de temps libre.
Après avoir visité le site archéologique, nous irons dans un cénote isolé. Un endroit calme pour se reposer ou prendre un bain rafraîchissant. Là, nous déjeunerons préparés par la communauté des femmes mayas locales.
Cette ville jaune avec son couvent du XVIe siècle construit sur une pyramide maya et possédant le deuxième plus grand atrium du monde, est l'une des premières villes magiques du Mexique. Nous allons vous montrer quelques structures mayas que vous pouvez encore escalader. L'un d'eux est le troisième plus grand bâtiment de Méso-Amérique (en termes de volume). Avant de retourner à Valladolid, vous aurez l'occasion d'admirer le beau travail de l'un des artisans locaux très talentueux qu'Izamal propose: - Cocoyol: bijoux fabriqués à partir de graines de fruits locaux et d'épine de henequen. - Miniatures: œuvres d'art à petite échelle. - Papier mâché: travail incroyable avec du papier mâché. - Sculpture sur bois: œuvre d'art assez courante dans la région de Mayare

An incredible day with Gilberto. An excellent guide who took us on a 10 hour excursion to Chichen Itza, cenote Yokdzonot, and the yellow city of Izamal. We learned so much from Gilberto. I felt the tour was perfectly timed, with great locations and truly memories experiences. Gilberto also takes amazing photos if you're wanting group photos.

Great experience. The tour is well calibrated. The guide (Jose) is very kind, knowledgeable and fun. We learned a lot. 100% would recommend As stated in the description of the tour, the entrance fee to Chichén Itzá is not included, but that was the only mandatory « extra expense »

Jose was an amazing tour guide. He truly cares about his Mayan culture and it showed through his knowledge of the sites that we went to throughout the day. His presence was informational, and never speaking to the history in a way that wasn’t supported by facts. A great combo experience - José was very knowledgeable about the area as a local. Getting to Chichén Itzá before the mobs from Cancun do is definitely a bonus! There is minimal cover there during the lectures at various spots, so be sure to bring sun protection! There may be umbrellas in the transport van. The cenote was beautiful - we were a little sad that bulky life vests were required as that made it difficult to swim around very well. The water was perfect. The food was delicious. Izamal was picturesque, and it was neat to climb a Mayan pyramid. It was typical for a multi-stop tour in that you really want more time at each place to explore, but you're on a timeline. They balance it as best they can.
