Visite à pied de Chicago : relier le passé et le présent
Description
Cet aperçu animé de l'architecture de Chicago explore des bâtiments emblématiques des années 1890 à nos jours. Nous comparerons et mettrons en contraste un large éventail de bâtiments avec différents styles architecturaux et verrons comment les anciennes structures se connectent aux nouveaux ajouts à la ligne d'horizon. Au cours de cette visite, nous ferons sept arrêts dans le centre-ville de Chicago où nous pourrons comparer les histoires et les styles des bâtiments situés à portée de vue les uns des autres. La visite présente des bâtiments commerciaux, beaux-arts, modernes et postmodernes du milieu du siècle, ainsi que les dernières architectures de Frank Gehry, Renzo Piano et Adrian Smith. À chaque arrêt, nous examinerons les liens entre le passé et le présent et découvrirons ce qui inspire le design aujourd'hui. La visite se termine par une visite au Millennium Park, où l'art et l'architecture de classe mondiale se combinent, créant un tissu urbain unique. Highly recommend the Graceland Cemetery Tour. Many prominent Chicago figures are there and the cemetery is also considered an arboretum.
