Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. We learned a lot and saw beautiful parts of the city we hadn’t seen yet.
Through this visit, we were able to discover the Medina of Chefchaouen, its neighborhoods, its history and its secrets. The guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions.
This 2 hour tour is an excellent way to see the city and be informed of its history, culture and beauty. The guide, Mohammed, was excellent. He was friendly, engaging, funny and he knew the city well. I would highly recommend his services. .
We rented a car from Tangier and drove to Chefchaouen in the morning and did a three-hour walking tour with guide Abdenour. This ended up being the highlight of our entire trip to Morocco! He told us where to park took us to all the hidden spots for photos that we could never have found on our own. In addition to being a great guide who shared the history of the town, he happens to be a fantastic photographer, too. He took us to get the best shawarma in town for lunch. If you want a friendly, fun local to show you around who knows all the Instagram spots, this is the way to go!
Mohamed was an absolutely incredible Tourguide with an immense depth of knowledge of not only Chefchaouen but Morocco as a whole. He was very engaging and kind - he did a great job of providing information without overwhelming
A private tour of Chefchaouen with Mahmoud is the best way to experience the city. Mahmoud is friendly, knowledgeable. He guides you effortlessly through the famous blue streets, sharing insights into the town’s culture, history, and hidden spots. Relaxed, authentic and very enjoyable—highly recommended.
Fouad was a great tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and informative. We throughly enjoyed our tour of the Medina. We would recommend this tour to anyone that would like a more personalized approach.
My guide was nice and all, showed me the various streets, the landmarks and pinpoints to find my Riad, the big square and small square, the Spanish mosque and provided historical information and language explanations, and showed me the ‘instagrammer’ spots, etc. This I appreciated very very much. But I found my kindness and trust be taken advantage of in the sense that I felt like this was really about me spending money in the focal points for this guide. The Argan oil vendor, the Art vendor and the Carpet vendor. Good naturedly, I spent a little at each place, and even although they say it’s not obligatory, and ‘if you want’, those feel like empty words as you find yourself lured in and hearing similar spiels about how this is the best and ‘I want to prevent you from buying elsewhere where it is not the best quality’, and when you stop at a scarf and they push for a carpet and stress the importance of understanding the quality of their product when you didn’t intend on that money to spend because you were negotiated to the ground at a previous city! Enough. I wanted a tour of the Blue City, I wanted an informative, navigational tour only. You wanna suggest some stores to check out AFTER the tour, by all means, but don’t provide a tour with a hidden agenda. It’s just not good business.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re truly glad to hear that you enjoyed the informative and navigational aspects of your tour, and that your guide helped you discover Chefchaouen’s streets, landmarks, and history, that is always our main goal. At the same time, we sincerely appreciate your honest comments regarding the shopping stops. We understand how this part of the experience may have felt uncomfortable or not aligned with your expectations. Please allow us to clarify that our intention is never to pressure our guests into making purchases. The visits to local artisan shops are meant to showcase traditional craftsmanship and give travelers insight into local culture, with no obligation to buy. That said, your feedback is very important to us. We recognize that this approach may not suit every traveler, especially those who prefer a purely informational tour without commercial stops. We will take your comments into account and reinforce with our guides the importance of clearly communicating that these visits are entirely optional and of respecting each guest’s preferences more carefully. We truly value your trust and are sorry that this aspect affected your overall experience. Thank you again for highlighting both the positives and the areas where we can improve.
From my teen: As a 14 year old, I thought that the blue city was very beautiful, and was an immersive tour no matter what age. The locals were all very kind, and wanted to make sure you were smiling and having a good time. I would definitely go to the city again if I could!
We enjoyed the best tour of Chefchaouen with Fouad. He’s English was impeccable and he was great with my teenage son. He is truly the “mayor of the Blue City” - sharing details of his people, culture, history. He guided us through the Medina, stopping along the way to visit with the local artisans and townsfolk. Everyone knew him and greeted him fondly. Fouad is patient and kind and filled with joy & happiness. This was an amazing experience!
