This was a fun way to see Cambridge and the little doors were really creative. The £8.50 app was good value but I have to say the 'interactive map' was frustrating and difficult to use. But we persevered and saw all but two of the doors - when we couldn't work out the map the locals were really helpful and knew exactly where they were and were enthusiastic about is being on the trail. This is a great way to spend a day in Cambridge and I fully recommend.

It was a good experience and amazed to find them in places where I've walked past many times but never noticed they were there. Using the map on a phone wasn't always great as sometimes it was a bit glitchy to load and had to start again but it may have been because of the lack of mobile reception when walking around the centre of the city? All in all an enjoyable afternoon experience with friends but we only ticked off nine doors so plenty more to see! The University bookshop had strategically placed the Dinky Doors book in the window above the Dinky Door so that gave us an excuse to go in to take a look...

Fun activity to do with little ones around Cambridge. Some of them are further out and need a car.

It would be great but not on a mobile phone. The map just isn’t clear enough, it was almost impossible to tell how far apart they were. One of them was nowhere near the centre of Cambridge. By the time we had walked there, we had become quite discouraged, it wasn’t one of the best ones. We found a second one by accident as I realised we were in Downing Street. Trying to find the third one proved impossible and all two far apart so gave up. It was so cheap to buy I wasn’t bothered about missing out. I will definitely order the physical package to see if it’s any clearer. I would have preferred a physical route to follow as on a mobile they all looked close and walkable round, in reality, that’s definitely not the case.

I loved the idea of it and thought it would be a good way to explore Cambridge. We did 4 and then gave up. Overall, the digial map wasnt tge easiest to navigate and the write up for each point part real, part fantasy. It just didnt make a lot of sense. Would i do it again with young children? Maybe. Overall, not the experience Id hoped for.

I absolutely loved the Dinky Doors self‑guided tour in Cambridge. It’s one of those experiences that makes you slow down, look closer, and appreciate the city in a completely new way. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We are from Lisbon, Portugal, and this experience started completely by accident. While walking through a garden in Cambridge, my husband spotted a tiny door at the base of the Reality Checkpoint lamp post. We stopped, smiled,and immediately wondered: where could this possibly come from? That single little door sparked our curiosity. A few quick searches later, we discovered Dinky Doors, and just like that, our walk turned into an adventure. What we loved most is that this isn’t just a “tour”, it’s an invitation to slow down, look closer, and see the city with different eyes. Each door feels thoughtful, playful and perfectly placed, blending imagination with Cambridge’s character. We managed to find almost all of the doors, missing only two of the more distant ones, not because of the tour, but simply because time ran out. And honestly, that only made us smile, knowing there are still a couple of little secrets waiting for a future visit. As visitors, it gave us something special that no traditional guide could offer: surprise, joy, and that childlike feeling of discovery. It made our time in Cambridge feel personal and memorable. We highly recommend Dinky Doors to anyone who enjoys exploring, storytelling, and finding magic in small details. Sometimes, the best experiences really do start with a tiny door.🙂 🪄

The dinky doors are great but the website for the tour is rubbish - a waste of money. The website wouldn’t load easily and wasn’t very mobile friendly.
