This review is easy. If you want to learn about Chablis or if you are a Chablis lover this is ideal. Twenty plus tastings, comprehensive explanations and fabulous views. Simple as that.
The driver, vehicle and tours were as expected. The wineries were lovely and tastings were all good. Excellent information about the region and the wines. The company made a lunch reservation for us in Chablis and it was delicious.
Great way to experience Chablis wine and the region. Our guide Roman was excellent..great recommendation for lunch. Very good selection of wineries and nice people.
Great day in Chablis! Ilya was a great guide who spoke excellent English. We visited four great wineries - two with very educational tours in addition to our tastings. We learned a lot about the types of Chablis wine based on where the grapes are grown, the various ways the wines are fermented/aged, and then tasted various styles of Chablis. We also had lunch at a very nice restaurant as a group (we had 6 people - 3 parties of two - in our group). Would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to visit Chablis from Paris.
The positives: The wineries themselves were all lovely, though the first one had a self guided tour that was a complete waste of time. Very knowledgeable folks we enjoyed. The mediocre: the place we stopped for lunch. There were only 2 of us and we were taken to a hotel restaurant where we were the only people eating. Super depressing and the food was terrible. Very surprising choice given the area is so charming. The biggest disappointment: our driver, Alexander. He was a perfectly safe driver but for the price we expected more (we had to upgrade to a private tour because no one else signed up - not a complaint- company was super upfront on this!). For example - he never proactively spoke to us. Not once! At one point he pulled over on the side of the road and opened the doors. No comment like “this is a beautiful place for a photo” - not a word. (And it really wasn’t a great spot for a photo). He definitely spoke English as he was able to answer questions we asked - but at this price point definitely missed the mark.
We disagree with this Review. During this trip the customers have visited 4 local Chablis wines producers. By Chablis Regnard they had the English Guided tour with tasting at the end, By Brocard they visited the cellars and had a 1,5 hours long tasting with cheeses made by the company staff, 2 more places were visited with wine tastings and explanations made by the local staff in English. The driver did his job driving fast and safely to all the places on time providing the tickets. We don't own any restaurant. It was not ours. We don't cook for customers ourselves. We can help with a restaurant reservation if our customers ask about. We offer only restaurants we know and have positive feed back. This restaurant had before You only positive feed back. If the customer wants to have in addition to 4 English guided tastings a LIve guide driving with them in the car No problem. Just to pay the surcharge for the guide and he or she will tell your stories, legends etc. But we didn't t consider it as necessary to avoid higher price for a service You don't need in fact.
Alexander, our driver, was exceptionally polite and did his utmost to make us feel comfortable (for example, he made sure we found a bathroom when needed! The locations chosen were ideal and the we splurged on lunch at a great local restaurant that was flooded with the locals (meaning it was a fantastic meal). TAKE THIS EXCURSION. It will be a lifelong memory.
Such an enjoyable day’s experience! Our guide Alex was wonderful from the beginning to the end of the day - he was informative about the places we visited and the Chablis area in general. Vineyard and wineries were all worth visiting - gave us great insights and great wines to taste !! A beautiful lunch in Chablis also. Lovely day !!!
Great day trip and Roman was a fantastic driver/guide! He even took us up to a scenic vineyard for a great photo opportunity! Highly recommend this tour! À la vôtre
Our driver had to share our vehicle once at the winery due to another group that needed because their car broke down . Due to this we missed out on a visit to a winery.
It is just not true. After visiting of 2 Chablis wine tastings You asked our driver to skip Chablis Regnard because You wanted to spend more time in the Chablis village. It s a pity not to have visited this 200 years old house. But it was Your choice. Anyway You have visited afterwards a very cute place with guided tour, cellars visit and tasting. What is true that our driver helped his colleague to bring our clients from one winery to another 7 km = 10 minute drive. It didn't affect in no way your itinerary. We help each other always. Another car came from Paris meanwhile for the second small-group and we sorted it out.
I would have given this excursion a higher rating except our tour provider emailed me the day before the event to cancel due to an issue with air conditioning in the vehicle. This was a highlight trip for my family so we were very disappointed. I ended up dealing with the viator customer service area to work out a solution. Many emails and calls back and forth... The driver ended up getting us another vehicle for the next day and called me at 11:00 pm!. We were pretty crammed in the small vehicle, but at least got to experience it. The excursion itself was good. But I was a bit disappointed in the service I received and no offer for any kind of compensation due to the fact we did not get what we fully paid for.
Due to the fact that our minivan was at the service station we could not serve You and You took NOT our company but a different one. So You have to find out the name of them and grant them You rating
