Excellent day out at sea seen whales was a bumpy trip in case you don’t like that we loved it would highly recommend doing this staff where great food and drinks also included so happy days 😎
Overall great experience! Would highly recommend as activity was amazing and workers were all nice and accommodating. We saw pilot whales and incredible views of the island from the sea!
I didn’t enjoy this experience I find it really unsafe, as we had a bit of the rough water and no life jackets or any sort of seat belts were available to keep you on Cataraman, I felt I was one slip away from getting into the sea. I couldn’t wait for this experience to end. Pick up and drop off was great, on time and pleasant.
We booked for a group of 11 people, with a pickup at our hotel in Costa Adeje. Everything went smoothly and exactly as described. We were contacted by the Monte Cristo team the day before our trip to arrange the pickup, and on the day itself the pickup occurred exactly as promised. The great thing about the Monte Cristo Catamaran trip is that it is a smaller boat. There are no crowds on board, which means everyone gets to see very well. Some of the other boats are huge, with over a 100 passengers on board, which makes it difficult to get a good look if animals are spotted on the other side of the boat. Although it was just a three hour boat trip, we did get to see plenty of pilot whales, and even a mother and her calf - very cute. The crew was also very friendly and helpful. They certainly did their best to make everyone comfortable and happy. The offered buffet is nothing special though. It is prepared on board, by a tiny crew in a ship's kitchen/galley, so it is a small offering of some cold meats and cheeses, a slice of bread, some tortilla, cookies, etc. This was fine for us: we weren't expecting more and neither should anyone else. But some of our fellow travellers on board did seem a bit disappointed. I'm only mentioning it here to manage expectations of future travellers.
It is a wonderful trip and the crew was very attentive to everything, we saw whales but no dolphins, we were not lucky, 45 minutes to take a magnificent swim and a snack table with tortillas, cold cuts, tomato, roasted peppers and drinks and fruit all the time to finish off with sweets. I highly recommend it, just keep in mind that you can get seasick, I recommend taking biodramina before leaving
The team were great! We saw dolphins, whales and a turtle. I would suggest that if you have even the slightest suspicion you will be seasick, take some tablets beforehand!
Lovely trip, safe and informative trip with a lovely friendly crew. Tapas and drinks available and time for a lovely swim after spotting Whales and Dolphins
This tour was amazing. I was slightly doubtful that we would get a good look at whales or dolphins, but then ended up seeing both close up! I came over quite seasick halfway through, and the staff were very helpful and kindly looked after me. The whole excursion was three hours long, so for those who don’t suffer from seasickness I would definitely recommend! Great value for money considering we got a transfer there, food, drinks, and the best sighting of whales/dolphins. The atmosphere was very relaxed, and not a massive crowd so didn’t feel overwhelming. Would definitely recommend!
It is convenient to take something for motion sickness if you are prone to it.
Very good experience, everything well organised and ran on time. Saw two different groups of Pilot Whales, very close to boat. Good explanations by the crew, would definitely recommend.
