The palace itself is OK. You must ride a bus through the palaces terraced gardens - you cannot walk through them. However, the view from the palace is BREATHTAKING!! There was an option of shopping in the tiny village or going with the guide and group to lunch. DO NOT MISS THE LUNCH. WONDERFUL! Afterward, our guide took us to the cellars beneath the restaurant which was also very interesting. Unknown to us prior to the tour of the cellars, this restaurant is a fave of celebs - many of which have signed wine bottles that are displayed in the cellar.
Deborah did a wonderful job with our tour. It was very personable and relaxing. No feeling rushed at landmarks or confusion about meeting spots or tickets. She met us at our hotel and even called the day before to confirm! I’ll definitely look up her tours next time I am here and will gladly refer her.
Debora was a wonderful guide! We had some time in town, a guided tour of the gardens, and plenty of time to explore the Pope's summer residence. Debora also picked a very nice restaurant for us with a view of the lake. The entire day was relaxing and enjoyable.
We had a very nice private tour with Deborah. Castel Gandolfo, the summer residence of the Popes, and especially the Barberini Gardens, are very worth seeing. A gem not far from Rome. Thank you, Deborah, for this beautiful day.
This was a wonderful half day trip near Rome. We had a mixup with the pick up location but Deborah quickly resolved the issue and everything worked out great. We started with lunch overlooking Lake Albano and then toured the grounds and museum at the old summer papal residence. Then we went to the current summer papal residence and spectacular gardens. It's really a special place and Deborah added to it by sharing an abundance of knowledge about the history. Highly recommend!!!
Our tour was with Debra. She was amazing. The tour was so interesting and plenty of time afterwards to walk around the small town. Lunch then with the guide and one other couple. Very pleasant. Highly recommend. The gardens were spectacular and the town was quaint.
We had an excellent tour with Debora to Castel Gandolfo. She was a very knowledgeable tour guide. She planned a great experience for us as we toured the town, palace, gardens topped off with a delicious lunch with a spectacular view of the lake. Debora spoke English perfectly so we had great conversations. We would highly recommend her for this fabulous tour.
This was a unique and wonderful experience. Interesting history, beautiful artwork and gardens and a quaint hillside village overlooking a beautiful lake. Our tour guide Debra was excellent!!
The whole experience was so interesting and would recommend it. Our guide, Debra, was informative, pleasant and a delight to be with. A good way to spend your day.
It’s wonderful to be able to visit this site open to the public only since 2014. The timing is perfect and our guide very punctual and attentive. Thanks to her.
