Entrez au King’s College ! Établi par le roi Henri VI, avec les ajouts successifs du roi plus ambitieux (d’où le nom). La chapelle possède le plus grand plafond voûté du monde et même un Rubens, autrefois le tableau le plus cher jamais acheté. Il est facile de comprendre pourquoi de nombreux Rois et Reines ont visité, et pourquoi votre visite ne peut pas être complète sans entrer! Cette visite vous fera découvrir le rôle crucial de Cambridge dans l'histoire mondiale et mettra en lumière les merveilles architecturales de la ville, avec nos guides universitaires. En plus de cela, la visite entrera au King’s College! Parmi les sites couverts figurent la plus ancienne église de Cambridge (1033), le plus ancien Collège (1284) et le laboratoire célèbre pour la découverte d'ADN. Avec Cambridge monuments tels que le pont mathématique et la maison du Sénat où la remise des diplômes a eu lieu au cours des 300 dernières années. Sans aucun doute, le point culminant de votre visite sera l'entrée dans la magnifique chapelle du King’s College. La première pierre a été posée par le roi Henri VI lui-même, et les rois anglais successifs apportant des ajouts de plus en plus ambitieux (d'où le nom!). La chapelle abrite le plus grand plafond voûté en éventail du monde, elle est ornée de majestueux vitraux et il y a même une peinture Rubens (autrefois la peinture la plus chère jamais achetée).
Peterhouse a été le premier collège de l'université, financé en 1284. Le groupe s'arrêtera à l'extérieur où vous pourrez admirer la splendide chapelle du collège et en apprendre davantage sur des étudiants célèbres tels que le poète Thomas Gray.
La visite s'arrêtera à l'extérieur du Pembroke College - le troisième plus ancien collège de Cambridge - où notre guide étudiant compétent vous racontera son histoire, y compris des détails sur la chapelle du collège, conçue par Sir Christopher Wren. Bien que l'entrée soit gratuite, le Collège n'admet pas de groupes de plus de 6 personnes, nous vous suggérons donc de revenir ici après la visite en gardant à l'esprit toutes les informations historiques.
Nous allons d'abord jeter un œil à l'intérieur de la Grande Cour de Corpus, puis notre guide étudiant vous racontera l'histoire de ce célèbre Collège.
Le pont mathématique est l'un des ponts les plus reconnus à Cambridge et il a une histoire d'origine assez étrange. Notre guide étudiant vous racontera la légende populaire, puis clarifiera les origines réelles du pont.
Le groupe s'arrêtera à l'entrée de Clare College sur les «Backs» - le nom local du chemin menant derrière les collèges centraux - où vous découvrirez son histoire. De plus, à cet arrêt, notre guide mettra en évidence la bibliothèque universitaire juste en face.
Ce pont offre une belle vue sur la rivière Cam. Sur le côté droit, vous verrez le pont de Clare College, le plus ancien pont de Cambridge. Juste devant, il y a la magnifique bibliothèque Jerwood de Trinity Hall, qui a été conçue pour ressembler à un navire! C'est un arrêt photo incontournable!
En dehors du Sénat, notre guide étudiant vous dira tous les détails particuliers de la cérémonie de remise des diplômes à Cambridge, qui a eu lieu au Sénat depuis 300 ans.
Le célèbre voisin et rival du Trinity College. Vous découvrirez ici sa réputation et le privilège spécial que les boursiers du Collège partagent avec la famille royale.
La visite se terminera par le Trinity College où vous en apprendrez plus sur des anciens célèbres tels que Sir Isaac Newton et le Prince Charles. Vous verrez «le pommier» et entendrez l'histoire incroyablement comique derrière la statue d'Henri VIII au-dessus de la porte.

Mark was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining.. He kinda customised his storyline based on where the tourist came from making it very relatable.. I wish him all the best
Highly informative tour from Hermione. She is highly knowledgeable and it's great to get an alumni perspective. It was a nice smaller group also which made walking around less overwhelming. I would highly recommend this tour for anybody visiting Cambridge.

The meeting point was extremely busy with several other tours being in the same vicinity. Thanks to a phone call we realised we were only 10M from Rachel our tour guide with this tour, thanks for the call, was very good service. Rachel was excellent, very informative, great sense of humour & personable. The other tours had large groups of people but we were a small group of 6 which made for great conversation & sharing information. The many questions that were asked, Rachel provided lots of detail & great history of Cambridge. It was a really good tour. The Kings college chapel is a must visit at the end of tour if you haven't been before. We wish Rachel all the best in your studies to becoming a vet.

The experience started with a morning message on my WhatsApp from the Guide Mark Shere welcoming me to the upcoming tour and explaining how to spot him when I reach the location. When I got there, Mark welcomed me warmly and introduced me to the other family of 3 we were going to go on the tour with. This instantly made me feel comfortable. Mark is a people’s person, and has the personality of an entertainer who uses humour to add to his vast repertoire of knowledge of world history (not surprising given his degree in History from Cambridge). Mark then proceeded to take us on a tour full of information and interesting tidbits about Cambridge. From the King’s College chapel, the Rose Wars and the various British kings and their relationship with Cambridge University - he made every aspect of the tour come alive. He made the tour relevant for all 4 of us on tour which included a young 18 year old, her parents from Germany and me an Indian with an emotional connect to Cambridge (since I got admission here but could not attend due to financial issues). Mark took us to see the College I wishes to see and I am very thankful for that. How the 2.5 hours passed, I never realised and in the end I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the tour. If I go there again, I would happily do the tour again with Mark! Highly recommended for everyone visiting Cambridge. Look for Mark and book a tour with him!

Our guide Theo, himself a history graduate from Cambridge was first class. He had a lovely engaging manner, was very polite, engaging and extremely knowledgeable. His commentary throughout the 2 hour walk was extremely well structured, flowed seamlessly and was incredibly informative. We saw and learnt things in those 2 hours that we never could have walking by ourselves or with a guidebook. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Theo and this tour!
Mark walked us through Cambridge on a scorching hot day during the heat wave. This didn't stop him from giving us as many details as possible on the UK school system, Cambridge history and walk us to the highlights; all with that iconic dry Bristish humour! It was a joy and we learned so much! I recommend Mark to anyone who loves to be intellectually challenged like Mark would put it! It was a great day trip thanks to him!
