La visite commence au port où vous montez à bord d'un autocar climatisé pour une heure de route le long de routes panoramiques, en passant par des villages pittoresques sur votre chemin vers Cahuita. C'est un magnifique parc national qui combine une grande plage de sable blanc avec une forêt tropicale exubérante. Au cours de la promenade dans la nature, notre guide naturaliste vous indiquera les différentes espèces fauniques présentes dans le parc telles que les singes, les paresseux, les iguanes, les toucans et autres. Après la promenade dans la nature, une pause collation est incluse dans la ville de Cahuita, où vous pourrez prendre un verre ou goûter aux saveurs locales des Caraïbes. De retour à l'embarcadère, un arrêt dans une plantation de bananes est inclus pour en savoir plus sur cette culture importante pour l'économie costaricienne. Outre la banane, vous découvrirez le chocolat et d'autres produits importants de cette riche région. Une boutique de souvenirs est également incluse dans le cadre de la visite avant le retour au navire.

Un magnifique parc national situé à environ 1 heure de la jetée, avec une faune, une végétation et une culture des Caraïbes abondantes. Le parc national de Cahuita est un parc national terrestre et marin de la zone de conservation des Caraïbes La Amistad du Costa Rica, situé sur la côte sud des Caraïbes à Limón, relié à la ville de Cahuita. Cahuita est unique au Costa Rica pour sa relation étroite avec la communauté, un exemple de gestion partagée entre la communauté et le gouvernement pour un développement durable au niveau communautaire. La participation des gardiens du parc et de la vie communautaire se démarque par une gestion de gouvernance partagée. Dans cet écosystème, niché dans les Caraïbes mais avec un environnement forestier, vous trouverez des espèces comme les ratons laveurs, les paresseux, les iguanes et les basilics. Vous remarquerez également des serpents comme des guirlandes et des tamagá, et des oiseaux comme le faucon noir. À l'intérieur du parc, il est possible de pratiquer des sports récréatifs et de faire de la randonnée sur les sentiers, ou simplement de profiter des plages pour nager ou bronzer.
Puerto Limón, communément appelée Limón, est la capitale et le principal hub de la province de Limón, ainsi que du canton de Limón au Costa Rica. C'est la septième plus grande ville du Costa Rica, avec une population de plus de 55 000 habitants, et abrite la communauté afro-costaricienne. La province des Caraïbes est un paradis naturel, formé par une combinaison de jungles denses, de montagnes imposantes et de plages paradisiaques. Limon possède le pourcentage le plus élevé de terres protégées au Costa Rica, ainsi qu'une grande variété de flore et de faune. Sa végétation est exubérante, tout comme les cultures de toute la province.

Si vous expédiez en retard, notre personnel vous attendra jusqu'au quai du navire et vous permettra de débarquer. Nous opérons toutes nos visites en conséquence avec l ́arrivée du navire.

This is the same tour offered by our cruise ship but was a better value. You get three different experiences - 1) a visit to a nearby national park with sloths, monkeys and some birds, 2) an organic banana plantation where you learn both about the fruit and the packaging process and 3) a canal tour on a boat offering close-ups of sloths and caimans. Our guide Nathalie was a delight - very informative, positive and professional.. Highly recommended!

This was a well organized day with a biologist as our guide. He was very knowledgeable, professional and personable. He was aware of the needs of the group and offered spot stop options for those who were mobility challenged. The driver was aware and watched for opportunities to see wildlife en route and stopped for amazing sites. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was a great tour and our guide Natalie was exceptional. The bus and boat were clean and comfortable and Natalie was full of knowledge about the area and all the species. I learned so much in the 6 hours of the tour. Highly recommend this one!

Our guide Ariel was great-Pickup outside the port was easy, transportation was very comfortable and the locations visited were amazing. Ariel shared his wealth and breath of knowledge, never rushed us at the three destinations - Cahuita National Perk, the banana plantation and a river tour and made it a really interesting and fun day. As warned, bring Deet as the mosquitos can be a little aggressive and carry water and snacks as we spent six hours on the tour. There is food and drink that can be bought at the banana plantation and the prices are reasonable. A really nice thing our guide did- let us know that we would be arriving back at the port on time, several times during the day.
