This was a fantastic experience with a great tasting of everything Romania from the food to the history lessons would highly recommend.
This was a great time, with communist history. The museum was very interesting, and we had an excellent meal. Gabi was a fantastic guide.
Excellent tour .Our guide Gabrielle was so knowledgeable and friendly. Food very tasty good to try new things.
Loved this activity. So informative and private. Small group, great guide, a ton of great information about life during the communist times.
This was an enjoyable evening, very well presented by Ali, who certainly knew her subject. We spent an hour or so looking at / discussing the Communism exhibition and were then treated to the meal which, though a proper representation of Romanian food, was a little disappointing. There was no substantial 'main course', which rather failed to meet the advertised description of an evening dinner. A pleasant evening, but not quite the dinner event I was expecting.
Everyone who goes to Bucharest should do this experience. There were only six of us on the tour. It was perfectly paced. The "host" took us on about a 30 minute overview tour of the museum and then we had about 30 minutes to explore on our own. This was the perfect amount of time. Then, the dinner happened which was the highlight. Not only was the food good (and plentiful) but the conversation with the host and the other participants was really insightful. I came away feeling like I really understood what it was like living in Romania during the Communist period. Better yet - they are moving to a larger museum because they have more historical items to display.
Amazing. Our guide was incredibly personable, informative and entertaining. The tour was top notch. And the dinner was superb. The food was delicious and the group was so much fun. This was our favorite experience in Bucharest.
This was a wonderful experience!! We really enjoyed the history, great museum, and delicious dinner!!
We found this evening to be very educational. The museum was great but the best part was time speaking with our great guide during the dinner period. Her knowledge about communism included family experiences. The dinner was excellent in that it was platters of multiple different selections for each course. Many choices and all very tasty. This tour is recommended to anyone wanting to learn about communism and life/food in Romania.
For an insight into how Romanians view their recent history and progress the communist museum and dinner is excellent value. Informed and informative and knowledgeable.
