We had a really lovely time with Michael our guide. First he drove us to the glow worms caves on Tambourine Mt, even the drive was lovely. The caves were stunning, and we got to see tropical frogs beforehand! Then he drove us to see amazing views of eastwards from Eagle Heights of the Gold Coast and then westwards from the Robert Sowter Park lookout across the mountain ranges. These were such stunning experiences, and we were really grateful for our guide taking us there and then the BBQ on the hillside as the sun set! Lastly Michael brought out an impressive telescope, and showed us amazing views of planets, nebula and distant star clusters. We loved how passionate Michael was about stargazing and he got us excited too. The view at night from the top of mountain was incredible, I’ve never seen that many stars before. Thank you!
I dont really see what £177 payed for on this tour apart from the glow worms which were $29 each and I didn't pay full price for this whole tour either, We was in the van for 2 hours before we got anywhere, I get we need to pick up other people but there was only another pair and the glow worms were just 43 mins from us which i felt like i could of just done myself as it was a guided tour with them not with our tour gudie who ended up being a man, van and telescope,, Most of the things on this tour are free to do which I could of done myself, Didn't really like being taken to a pub to see a view felt like another punch in the face for something free again. The sunset was a shock this activity is based on a small grass area on a big hill full of the public next to a busy road which you have to cross several times to get food/wine which was basic. We was also not made aware there was a non alcoholic option. The stargazing was good however felt like it dragged on abit. The worse bit was the drop off, didnt get back till 9:30pm when we was just 40 mins away as dropped the other couple off first, who was also late coming to the tour. I just felt this tour was abit of a money grabber only thing payed for is the worms, petrol and basic food.
Michael was a very informative guide and was able to answer all of our questions. We had a lovley time
The trip is worthy. Michael- the tour guide takes care of us very well. The glow worm cave, sunset & stargazing are beautiful & amazing. The tour will provide 1 bottle per pax which is enough for me, but you can prepare more for yourself if in need
Amazing day out! The tour guide (sadly I can’t remember his name) was very informative and talked us through every step of the way which was really nice and the sunset and bbq was spectacular! Unfortunately due to the storm closing over we had to leave early but we all managed to get a picture of the moon! I would do this again if I had chance I loved every minute of it! Considering I went alone I felt comfortable and the customer service team helped me find the exact pick up location which was very helpful!😊
Only experience was getting on the bus. Pick up at 1:30pm on 99F (37C) hot day and as we started to board the full van, told the air conditioner “just broke” and was handed a room temp bottle of water for the longer than one hour ride to the sight. The van has only front windows and the other passengers were already sweating. We exited immediately and requested a refund. Received a call stating funds would be refunded, but alas that hasn’t occurred. Hopefully, I can update with good news soon
Beautiful stars and planets! We went to the glow worms first to see them in the man-made cave. It was really interesting to learn about how they catch prey. The star gazing was the highlight for us though. We watched a stunning sunset while Michael made yummy sausages and then we got to star gaze. We saw Saturn perfectly clearly and so many cool constellations and nebulae. (top half of picture Saturn through telescope, bottom half sunset)
It’s a great experience for us. Especially the Glow-Worms cave. They are so tiny but shiny and cute. The tour guide Rosemary is very friendly and patient. She gave us very detailed introduction and answered a lot of questions about the glow worms. She did a great job!
It was nothing like the picture ! No water falls no cave . Just a man made tunnel with little green light .
We had a great time on this tour. The glow worm experience was very interesting, thank you Rosemary! During the sky walk we saw a Kookaburra after a kill, still had the snake in his mouth, and we also saw a Wallaby in the wild. The sunset was amazing and we had a perfect clear night for stargazing. A truly enjoyable afternoon.
