We did this tour our last day in Rome! Honestly we weren’t sure if we needed to go or not. Unless you are very into art like the Louvre in Paris - you could possibly skip this! It is definitely for an older and more art loving crowd! Cool to see but very far from other tourist attractions. We did the tour with Marta. She was great! Only issue we had was no where on the check in for LIVTOURS did it say no backpacks allowed inside. This should be written on the instructions. The guide was semi rude thinking we should have known this or checked the bag before downstairs the museum…. Otherwise tour was good but weird note to start on. Also I think the tour is hard because my husband and I weren’t major art lovers but others on our tour were so spent a lot of time at the highlights to admire and observe. It wasn’t fully our style. It felt like we skipped some of the rooms. Marta did a great job educating for the non art lovers though! This we liked a lot! Overall just know you must be really into art to go! If not you can skip and do something else during your time in Rome.
The guide spoke about the historical significance of the pieces of art on display and gave a little insight into ancient Roman and Greek theology. This tour wasn’t rushed like some of the others that we have been on even though it was only a 2 hour tour it was plenty of time to see everything and hear about it.
Great knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. She also has great English.
Amazing history and attention to detail
We had our tour of the Borghese Gallery with Tiffany. She was an outstanding guide and very knowledgeable about many of the iconic pieces in this beautiful museum. We spent quite a bit of time admiring the Bernini sculptures as well as the multitude of Caravaggios included in this museum. Tiffany had a deep appreciation and understanding of art history and was able to address all of our questions on the history of the artists, the Baroque period in Rome and many other details that were incredibly interesting and insightful. Overall and excellent tour that we thoroughly enjoyed.
She was fantastic! So knowledgeable and cb passionate about the artwork! I’d go again in a minute!
Marta was very nice and funny and incredibly knowledgeable. She packed lots of information into two hours and I would do the tour again.
We especially enjoyed the tour of Villa Borghese with Marta. She is extremely knowledgable and helped us cover all the highlights efficiently. She is an expert in her field and shared many interesting stories about the politics behind the sculptures and works of art. We appreciated the small group size. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy joy the treasures of VB with an amazing guide.
We really enjoyed our guided small group tour of the Borghese Gallery with Elisa and LivTours. The small size of our group kept the experience intimate and ensured we were able to ask questions and hear Elisa’s answers and explanations of the beautiful sculptures and paintings we were viewing. The pace was perfect and we really felt we left the tour with a better understanding and appreciation for the talented artists of the Borghese Gallery collection.
Francesco was the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide for our small group tour of the Borghese Gallery in Rome. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Highly recommend.
