L'arbre est utilisé par les guérisseurs traditionnels des communautés voisines à des fins rituelles et à des fins médicinales, à l'aide de l'écorce de l'arbre. Certains peuples croient que l'arbre peut être utilisé pour chasser l'esprit pervers. La marche en forêt implique également des visites et, si vous êtes intéressé, prenez part à notre initiative de conservation en passant de 30 à 45 minutes dans nos pépinières d’arrosage et de gestion des jeunes plants ou en plantant des arbres pour aider à conserver la forêt. Depuis la lisière de la forêt dans la partie sud, la randonnée peut être étendue aux exploitations rizicoles où les agriculteurs locaux gèrent un système de culture irriguée sur plus de 3000 ha de parcelles rizicoles.

Peter was an amazing guide and picked us up at our hotel and even brought us back again. He told us all about the different animals, trees and plants whilst the forest walk. He is so funny and his interest for wildlife is addictive and we loved to hear about his stories. He has a lot of experience and we would recommend going on a tour with him anytime. The forest tour was great. It was really nice to get out of the city buzz for a few hours and take some time to explore around the forest, rice field's and see the monkeys! Peter was a really good guide, he knew a lot about the forest, different trees and animals and the lifestyle of the farmers. Very much recommend :-)

The Rau Forest Hiking Tour was really nice! We saw lots of monkeys and special kind of trees and fruits. We also really enjoyed the Rice fields, it was wonderful! You could walk between the fields. The guide Peter has lots of knowledge and is really kind. He is very flexibel and willing to help you. He picked us up at our accomodation. We would definitely recommend this tour to others!
