Bogota : visite de la favela El Paraíso avec téléphérique-CIUDAD BOLIVAR

Description

Superb tour with the best of guides, who allows you to understand what the favelas really are and to talk with some of the neighborhood's residents.
Definitely a must do when in Bogota. David the Guide/Owner was wonderful and very knowledgable. Lots of walking but well worth it. The views from the cable car and the top of the mountain were breath taking.
The tour offered a fascinating and moving glimpse into a Bogotá favela. Our professional guide, David, provided detailed historical background information during the cable car ride, sharing many exciting insights into the neighborhood's development. Upon arrival, we were greeted by impressive graffiti, which we explored further on a walking tour. This also offered a breathtaking panoramic view of the metropolis of Bogotá – an unforgettable sight. However, what touched me most was the visit to the poorest part of the favela. The abject poverty and the insight into the daily lives of the people were deeply impactful. The account of one resident, who shared his life story and presented the projects aimed at providing better future prospects for the children, was particularly moving. Afterward, we took a bus back down the steep streets into the city. Finally, we had the opportunity to talk with the two guides and ask any remaining questions. Overall, the tour was exceptionally well-organized and offered far more than just sightseeing. It provided a deeper understanding of the social inequalities in Bogotá and the challenges, but also the hope and solidarity of its people. An impressive and highly recommended experience. Great insight into the other side of Bogota. Guide was awesome and the entire tour was a highlight..
Excellent tour with David. The driver was punctual and David was very friendly, engaging and professional. He is very passionate about his country and the area we visited. I was extremely impressed how everyone seemed to to not only know him, but showed respect (even the stray dogs!). I love the fact the everyone in the favela seemed to be community oriented.
Although the guide was very nice, I didn’t think he was quite as knowledgeable about the area as maybe he could’ve been. It was still a great outing, and definitely something we are very glad we did!
Jorge is a legend! He is by far the best host and tour guide we have ever met. He treated us like family from day one, shared his beautiful apartment, and showed us the absolute best of Bogotá on his tour. His smile and laughter made us feel so welcome and at home. Nice to meet you, amigo! Highly, highly recommended! ☀️🙌
The experience is as described, a ride up in the TransMiCable and then a tour around El Mirador and Favela El Paraiso, with a stop in a nice bakery and a local artist's workshop. The guide was very helpful in answering questions and providing an insight and our security guard had some special stories to share. I definitely think that you should visit Ciudad Bolivar if you are in Bogota, as it really sheds light into an important part of Colombian history.
This was a truly incredible tour. The guide was fantastic and walking around this area was such an interesting experience. The views from the top are jaw dropping. This is an absolute must for anyone visiting Bogotá.
This was an EXCELLENT tour, both for me (who is interested in substantive topics such as history, social realities, and public policies) AND for my six-year old granddaughter (who had been longing to ride a cable car, and who enjoyed the wonderful park and beautiful murals at the top of the ride in Paraiso). David Cruz was a superb tour guide, highly professional, very knowledgeable, and flexible and accommodating of our interests. His assistant in Paraiso, a “social leader” in a nearby community, was also a pleasure to spend time with. David was super easy to coordinate and communicate with, and organized a friendly taxi driver to take us to and from our hotel. Altogether a truly wonderful afternoon. Highly recommended!
