C’est cet amour profond qui nourrit notre désir de partager avec vous cette culture magnifique et complexe qui n’a pas son pareil dans le monde. En tant que résidents et guides touristiques qualifiés ayant de nombreuses années d'expérience, nous vous montrerons Bo-Kaap au-delà des images de cartes postales.

Nous nous réunirons au 71 Wale Street pour une introduction à la région, offrant un aperçu de l'histoire du Cap et de Bo-Kaap.
Bo-Kaap est une banlieue magnifique, pittoresque et colorée qui se niche au pied de Signal Hill dans le City Bowl de Cape Town. Son histoire est cependant imprégnée d’esclavage et il est également connu comme le «berceau de l’islam» au Cap. Des esclaves, des artisans et des exilés politiques ont été amenés ici d'Afrique, d'Inde, du Sri Lanka, d'Indonésie et de Malaisie, entre autres.

Shamiela was absolutely amazing with sharing the history of Bo-Kaap. Her knowledge was an inspiration for me and my husband to be able see why it’s so important for us never to forget the past. Also gave us deep understanding about the culture, language and food of this area. We highly recommend this tour.

Ms. Shamila, my excellent tour guide, is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and through her storytelling, I learned a wealth of knowledge in a few hours' time. Learning about the origins of Bo-Kaap and experiencing its strong sense of community was truly admirable. Ms. Shamila reminded me that travel is truly the best education. One of the best experiences in Cape Town to gain a real appreciation for the BoKaap community. Our guide grew up in BoKaap and would share greetings with friends as he showed us around his neighborhood. The in-depth history was enlightening and the resilience and vibrancy of this community was inspiring. It was beautiful and delicious - our wonderful guide treated us to a warm koesister at the end of our tour.
