Constanta, fondée en colonie il y a près de 2600 ans, est la plus ancienne ville attestée de Roumanie, le plus grand port de la mer Noire (troisième en Europe) et également la quatrième plus grande ville de Roumanie avec ses 400000 habitants. Constanta a été fondée par les Grecs comme un port sur la côte de la mer Noire pour le commerce avec les habitants des terres et appelé Tomis (VIe s. Av. J.-C.). La ville a été rebaptisée plus tard après Constantina, nièce de Constantin le Grand (274-337). C'était encore une ville portuaire florissante aux 10e et 11e siècles, faisant du commerce avec l'Empire byzantin et la ville de Gênes.

Alex was an outstanding guide. He was knowledgeable, humorous, and liked to talk. He took us to all of the great places in the city and the area. We had a very nice lunch near to seashore. Traffic into Bucharest was a bit heavy. i would highly recommend this tour.
This trip was the absolute highlight of my tourist adventures in Bucharest. The driver (Octavian) was fantastic & I learned so much about the area’s history and its present. It was a day very well spent with a guide who’s at the top of the list of many trip leaders I have experienced traveling over the years. I highly recommend this tour, for anyone seeking a day’s cultural, historical and scenic experience. You cannot go wrong.

Radu was an excellent host! He is well informed about Constanta’s history and culture! I am a history geek! So, I was intrigued by Radu’s historical knowledge of Constanta! The Black Sea view was so blissful to my eyes! I highly recommend this trip!
