An entertaining upbeat musical. We’ve enjoyed it very much. It was both entertaining and educational.
Great experience! Exciting and positive and happy mode for a tragic England Queens history story. Musical songs are great!
A fabulous show with high quality performances. Fast moving and no intermission! Don’t miss it
Six is a Broadway musical that gleefully tears up the rulebook—and then invites the audience to sing along while it does it. Framed as a high-energy pop concert, the show tells the stories of the six wives of Henry VIII through a modern, fourth-wall-breaking lens that is equal parts playful, empowering, and surprisingly poignant. Since opening on Broadway in 2022, Six has enjoyed a long and successful run, earning multiple accolades including Drama Desk Awards for Favorite New Musical and Outstanding Costume Design. Its popularity is well earned. Backed by a phenomenal all-female onstage band, the six queens take turns recounting their marriages to Henry VIII, remixing centuries of history into sharp, contemporary storytelling fueled by pop anthems and powerhouse vocals. One of the joys of seeing a show that has settled into its Broadway run is witnessing how confidently it plays to its audience—and Six clearly knows exactly who it is for. I had the opportunity to see it with a group of dancers, many of them young women, and the impact was unmistakable. The show landed as inspiring, energizing, and deeply affirming, offering a version of history that centers female voices without sacrificing humor or theatricality. Structurally, Six is unique among Broadway musicals. It runs straight through in a single act with no intermission, clocking in shorter than most traditional productions but never feeling incomplete. The storytelling is tight, propulsive, and purposeful. In fact, the show’s uninterrupted momentum is part of its strength—once it begins, it never lets go. Audience members should simply plan accordingly; once you’re seated, the next time you stand will be for the curtain call. Without giving away spoilers, the narrative is framed as a competition: each queen vying to prove that her marriage—and suffering—was the worst. At first glance, this structure may feel almost too playful for the subject matter. I found myself initially unsettled by the combative framing, wondering why a female-led musical would pit these women against one another. And then, just when the show seems to have fully committed to that premise, it executes a reveal that reframes everything. The result is deeply satisfying, emotionally resonant, and ultimately transformative—bringing the entire piece full circle with clarity and intention. It’s worth noting what Six is not. This is not a traditional Broadway spectacle with massive sets, moving scenery, or a sprawling ensemble. There are no elaborate scene changes or visual illusions. Instead, the show relies on six performers, handheld microphones, bold choreography, and electric music. And remarkably, that’s more than enough. The cast sounds exactly like the recording—tight, polished, and vocally fearless—and the choreography, while contained, is sharp and expressive. Six occupies an important place in the Broadway ecosystem. It may not resemble the grand musicals of the past, but it expands the definition of what Broadway can be. For seasoned theatergoers, it offers something refreshingly different; for newer audiences, it’s an accessible, exhilarating entry point into live theater. Tickets can often be found at same-day booths or resellers, making it an excellent addition to a Broadway itinerary. In the end, Six is a celebration—of voice, of agency, and of storytelling reclaimed. It’s smart, funny, loud, and unapologetically modern. And perhaps most importantly, it leaves its audience feeling seen, energized, and uplifted—long after the final beat drops
Now i have never stepped foot in a theatre never mind one on Broadway in New York but absolutely loved the show. Lovely little theatre and followed the musical. I personally thought the vocals were excellent but i’m no expert! I would now defo try another show and maybe the Lion King in London next
6 is fast, funny and spectacular, filled with energy and beautiful voices. The all-female band rocked it. About 75 minutes, non-stop. No intermission. Go and be queened.
Terrible experience did not like the musical at all. Loud with lots of strobe lights and loud female voices that were decent but not great. Music was mainly just loud and angry and the same dance steps and music over and over again. Definitely not worth your time or money. No. Costumes only flashy sparkles and nothing to do with the period of Henry the eighth. Not even a good storyline. Can’t believe we spent our money to go to this any other choice would’ve been better I think but we didn’t research it well so it was our fault.
My granddaughters loved this show. They are both 12. The music was amazing. One of the actors came outside after the show and signed autographs.
Brilliant high energy performance that we both thoroughly enjoyed. A great night out and interesting take on Henry viii’s wives’ stories.
My daughters and I realllyyyy enjoy this performance!! The ladies are super talented and the show is spectacular!! The storyline was great, but the music and their signing were incredible!! Highly recommendeded, especially for a Mom and daughter night🥰
