Le Panoptikum est le plus ancien musée de cire d'Allemagne. Il retrace plus de 130 ans d'histoire et présente des figures de cire historiques, des artistes et des hommes politiques, des œuvres de cire de célébrités et de mégastars, ainsi que des athlètes et des contemporains populaires. Les spectacles de cire du Panoptikum, qui constituent un excellent divertissement pour les jeunes et les moins jeunes, sont conservés avec dévotion et soin. Une visite au musée prend en moyenne environ 45 minutes jusqu'à une heure - les clients sont invités à rester aussi longtemps qu'ils le souhaitent pour explorer le musée de cire. Un audio-guide est disponible en anglais et en allemand. Il contient des informations générales, de la musique et des anecdotes sur les figures de cire réalistes que vous avez remarquées. Une visite du Panoptikum convient à tous les âges et est très recommandée aux enfants.

Great family owned waxworks,some good life like models
We were in Hamburg for a concert. During our bus tour and visit of the Reeperbahn we were in the Panoptikum. So the visit was planned and the visit was worth every penny! Modern - nostalgic - worth seeing!

We stayed as a family (4 adults) at short notice on December 25 at the Panopticikum. The online ticket booking was absolutely problem-free, the payment methods sufficient (especially also options without using PayPal). After arriving in Hamburg, the location was quite easy to find and we were looking forward to our first visit to a waxworks cabinet. Unfortunately, the audio guides, which can be rented free of charge on site, had been affected by technical problems and some explanatory texts stopped after just a few minutes. With the audio guide on the mobile phone (QR code) it worked absolutely flawlessly. We all thought the figures were quite well met, but would have been happy (to remember more compliant) presentation. Nevertheless, the price of admission is reasonable in relation to the cost of the exhibition and production of the figures. With children, I rather do not recommend the exhibition, as I think it is designed for adult and adolescent visitors. You should plan the duration of the visit with about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Wir entschuldigen uns in aller Form für die technischen Probleme mit dem klassischen Audioguide, diese wurden nach wenigen Tagen behoben, sodass Sie leider gerade im Zeitraum der Schwierigkeiten bei uns waren. Schön, dass wir mit dem Audioguide für das eigene Smartphone eine Alternative bieten konnten, die funktionierte und Ihnen gefallen hat. Auch wir sind der Meinung, dass in der langen, fast 150-jährigen Geschichte unseres Familienunternehmens einige Figuren hergestellt wurden, die nicht den heutigen Qualitätsstandards entsprechen. Daher werden diese älteren Figuren, die vornehmlich in den 1960er, 1970er und 1980er Jahren hergestellt wurden, stetig durch neue Wachsfiguren ersetzt. Wir sind aber der Meinung, dass unsere neueren Wachsfiguren durchaus dem Qualitätsstandard anderer Wachsfigurenkabinette entsprechen und sich mit diesen Messen können. Für Kinder ab sechs Jahren bieten wir spezielle und kostenfreie Quizhefte an, sodass auch jüngere Besucher von einem Besuch bei uns profitieren. The panoptic is really fun and is really recommended! It is suitable for every age group and definitely worth the visit.

Really fun experience! The museum is very small and most of the wax figures are for the older side, which resulted in them not being very good- but this made it very much fun! A place to see if you want a good laugher. The staff was very, very good, but an experience that takes about 30 minutes for us.
Thank you for your visit and your review. We are happy, that you had a fun time at our venue. You're right that we show in our exhibition also some waxworks which are not as good as others in our exhibition. In the 1960s and 1970s we had sculptors who produced wax figures which don't fulfill our today’s' quality standards. Due to this reason we replace this waxworks gradually by new ones with a high quality and likeliness. We would also like to have a larger exhibition space. Unfortunately, the statics of the building does not allow an increase of exhibition space, therefore, it is currently not possible to increase the number of square meters. The possibility to move to a larger premises is not possible, since the Panoptikum has been located at the same place since its foundation and the current building was designed by the third generation of the Panoptikum, so that we want to preserve the tradition of our company by staying in this building, even if it is not ideal for the exhibition.
Cancellation through this provider is not possible. Will buy tickets directly from the attraction in the future. The Panoptikom is small but nice and is a nice excursion.

Price okay. But we were outside again after about 30min. Some figures are very old, some do not correspond to the "original people" and already look different. We were a little disappointed. Staff were very friendly.

We had a super good experience! It was interesting and intelligent - not least the detail with Prs. Obama’s position relative to Trump 😉 Very friendly staff and management. We felt really comfortable and can only recommend a visit.
Hamburg is quite nice in the city centre, but only one of many big cities. The railway station region is disgusting. Speicherstadt and Hafen are interesting.
