Overall disappointing - despite being a big part of music history.

All of the 5-star reviews set our expectations high and honestly the experience was largely disappointing. Pros: It was powerful to stand on the "sweet spot" where so many famous musicians recorded countless hits and to see the Steinway piano played on so many memorable songs. Cons: Unless you are a HUGE Elvis fan you will likely be disappointed. The tour is 90-95% Elvis centric (our guide was obsessed with Elvid), lacking much focus on other well deserving on other artists including Dolly Parton, Roy Orbison, The Everly Brothers, Waylon Jennings, Charlie Pride and Willie Nelson (to mention only a subset) - beyond a quick mention in the first room to picture on the wall or an all too brief music clip. We were hurried by the recording equipment from the 50's and 70's into an empty (aside from a wall mounted TV) Studio D where we listed to our guide talk about all of the great things we would see in the next room (Studio B). We watched a couple of brief recordings from Studio B (which were interesting) before going into Studio B which was not set up as a studio...but rather had chairs around the outside of the room. The room did contain a couple of pianos (including the aforementioned Steinway). While we were told this is a currently active recording studio and you could look into the current sound room - for those of us that have never been in a recording studio, it would have been nice to have had it setup as if someone could walk right in and start recording. At the very least, it would have been nice to have a mic stand (old school) at the "sweet spot" for a photo op. While in Studio B, our guide played clips from several songs, including some on which the Steinway piano was played. This said, the vast majority of those clips were Elvis. We really appreciate Elvis and were pleased that the last clipped play was of Country Music great Dolly Parton. We would have appreciated hearing songs recorded in the space from a larger variety of artists. Given our experience and the challenges of getting there, we recommend Ryman Auditorium and Country Hall of Fame guided tours over this tour. If you miss this tour, you are not missing all that much. See photos for the tour highlights. The transportation to / from the Country Music Hall of Fame was cancelled the day went went on the tour. This meant we had to drive and pay for parking and there was no discount offered by the CMHF. The CMHF let us know in advance, and adjust our tour time - but it was still a hassle we were not anticipating.

Music City experience

We went on the studio B music tour and visited the museum. The tour guide Ron was excellent with his vast years of knowledge and countless stories regarding the music artists who recorded there. Definitely worthwhile to do both, and immerse yourself in the music genre.

Loved the RCA Studio B Tour

The Country Music Hall of Fame was fantastic and the RCA Studio B tour was the definite highlight of our trip!! Seth was an incredible tour guide! He shared so much music history and made it a really fun experience to be in the room where it happened. He did a wonderful job telling the stories of the recording legends who made a tremendous impact on generations of music lovers.

Great tour and museum

Our tour guide Ron was just wonderful. A real mine of information and so knowledgeable and friendly to everyone. Our only quibble was that the studios tour felt slightly rushed but we kind of expected that. Otherwise really good and just amazing being in that historic place where so many great musicians and artists have recorded. The museum was also incredible with so much to see and get around. Great value. Highly recommended.

Definitely worth it!

View from a mom. The RCA bus ride and tour is only an hour but so worth it. My 3 year old even enjoyed it. No stroller needed for the first half. Would definitely recommend a stroller for the Country Hall of Fame. You can enjoy it without holding a tired little one. So much to see and enjoy. Take the tour!

Awesome

Very informative and interesting. Tristan the narrator we had was absolutely great and funny. Kept your attention. The driver we had was very careful and cautious. I do suggest to take a bottled water.
