Fantastical palace
Fascinating building both inside and out, ticket desk staff were great and so was one of the guides in one of the rooms, however the rest seemed to be more interested in their phones than engaging with visitors. As English heritage members we got a discount on admission which made it more reasonable than paying full price which is maybe a little too much, especially once you add the cost of an audio guide which you did really need.
Magnificently opulent rooms, especially the dinning room and the music room also good to learn more about its turbulent history and its use after no longer under royal ownership.
Well worth a visit.

Bit disappointing.
I have wanted to visit the pavilion for a long time as it's such a beautiful building and I love history.
The admission fee was quite expensive for my daughter and I, but we decided to treat ourselves.
We didn't buy the audio guide, as in other museums, these aren't necessary as there are information signs to read - unfortunately the Pavilion doesn't offer these in each room so we were a bit unsure what we were looking at sometimes.
It was only 2/3 through the tour, that there was a room with information and the history of The Royal Pavilion.
We enjoyed looking at artworks and some of the decor of the building, particularly learning about the war history.
The paintings were interesting and the architecture stunning in the rooms.
The staff were friendly and on hand to answer any questions which was great, but both my daughter and I left feeling a bit underwhelmed.

Well worth a visit - it’s stunning
Absolutely stunning building did not disappoint. Our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. We were a group of 16 and I was in a wheelchair (provided by the venue - thank you). We were treated very well and it was a really special experience.

Interesting place to visit
Been visiting Brighton for years and finally made it to the Pavillion. Such an interesting story behind the building. Would highly recommend getting the audio guide as it brought each room to life.

Incredible preservation of art and design
This experience was beyond any expectation! The art and design contained in the Pavilion is mind blowing. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting London as it is a short hour away in Brighton which is also lovely.

A must- see
A return visit after several years. You walk around on your own. Audio guides available if you want them. Late in the day it was very quiet so we almost had it to ourselves. The room stewards were exceptionally helpful but not overpowering. You can take photos everywhere.

Surprisingly interesting
I didn’t have any expectations of what the Pavillion would be like, but I really enjoyed the opulence, the history of it that was quite interesting and the fact that you didn’t really need an audio guide, cause the history was told all through it in texts. I found the history of the building being a war hospital for Indian soldiers and the colonial heritage being particularly interesting. Well done Brighton city!

Disappointed
Took us 45 mins to tour this dreary Pavillion. The outside is intriguing but inside definitely disappoints from the start. We understand why it is gloomily lit but to be honest the Chinese dragon styling of the decor is ridiculously opulent and in the most part restoration, not original.
The most interesting aspect was the video about the structure and tunnels, and the display on the wartime use by Indian soldiers.
We paid £21 for both of us (2 for 1 offer if travelling by train) and glad we didn’t pay full price. At that price I won’t pay the extra for an audio guide - and having since read other reviews I didn’t realise that the QR codes in rooms gave more info. Some info boards with large print would be helpful.
And repetitive requests for donations etc -
I can see why the dragon activities are there for little ones but for me - I was pleased to finally get to the exit.
