Billet d'entrée au Musée de la Bible

This was our first visit to the Museum of the Bible, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to Washington, DC. While admission is a little more expensive than many of the city's museums, the experience more than justified the cost. The museum is beautiful, and the use of technology throughout the exhibits is unlike anything else we experienced in DC. The displays are incredibly immersive and make you feel like you're stepping into the stories of the Bible rather than just reading about them. There is so much to see that it's easy to spend several hours exploring, and every floor offers something different. Whether you're interested in history, archaeology, or the Bible itself, there's something here for everyone. If you're visiting Washington, DC, I highly recommend making time for the Museum of the Bible. It was one of our favorite attractions of the entire trip.

My husband and I visited the Museum of the Bible during our trip to Washington, DC this weekend, and overall we had a good experience. The museum was very easy to get to, parking was convenient, and the facility itself is beautiful. It’s a large, well-maintained building with multiple floors, so there’s plenty to explore. The staff was generally pleasant, and the museum was clean throughout our visit. One thing I was surprised by was the lack of staff throughout the exhibits. I expected to see more employees available to answer questions and more people dressed in biblical attire to help create an immersive experience. We did encounter a few in the Jerusalem exhibit, but outside of that, there wasn’t much interaction. Some of the employees stationed near the guided experiences and theater entrances also weren’t particularly welcoming. One negative experience happened when we were leaving one exhibit. There was a liquid spill on the floor, and although an employee clearly knew it was there, he didn’t stop me before I stepped directly into it. Instead of standing in front of the spill or placing a caution sign down, he waited until after my foot was already soaked. My pants were long, so the bottoms became wet, and I spent the rest of the visit walking around with a damp shoe and pant leg. It was frustrating because it easily could have been prevented. As far as the exhibits, I enjoyed many of them, but I was disappointed that several artifact displays had been removed for rotation or additional research. I completely understand preserving artifacts, but it was disappointing to visit and not be able to see some of the pieces we were looking forward to. The highlight for me was the floor that recreated life in biblical times. Walking through replicas of homes, a synagogue, an olive press, and other everyday settings really helped bring Scripture to life. That was the immersive experience I had hoped for throughout more of the museum. I also really enjoyed the educational videos that played throughout the exhibits. The presenter was engaging, knowledgeable, and made biblical history interesting. There was a class being offered that we didn’t have time to attend, but I would definitely consider it if we return. Some areas, like the American history exhibits and modern innovation displays, just weren’t as interesting to me because I came specifically for the biblical experience. I did enjoy several interactive features, including: * Receiving a bookmark that showed my biblical age. * The listening stations with music. * The “I Connect” area where visitors could record a one-minute testimony about how Scripture has impacted their lives. * The digital wall where you could describe in one word how reading the Bible makes you feel. * Creating your own Scripture artwork. I would have loved to see even more hands-on interactive exhibits throughout the museum. Overall, we enjoyed our visit, and I’m glad we went. It just wasn’t quite the immersive biblical experience I had imagined. If you’re interested in biblical history, it’s definitely worth visiting, but I would recommend setting your expectations more toward an educational museum than a fully interactive biblical experience.

Very informative and interesting. It does take a while, it took us 2.5 hours and it took some ppl 6-8 hours.

This is a must see if you are a fan of the Bible or Christianity. Definitely go on a Tuesday because that is the only day it is free admission. Give yourself plenty of time, we did not. Gave ourselves 2 hours before they closed and only made it half way through the museum with a lot of rushing. They have a live guttenburg press demonstration. Lots of old Bibles.

Wonderful place to visit with the entire family. Also good for churches to bring different children age groups in to learn the history.

There was so much to see and experience. We really did not allot enough time to see it all. We will absolutely go back.

Stunning ! I love everything! My favorite parts were the 4th floor where it talks about the different translations of the bible and the rooms showing what languages are yet to be translated. Thats beautiful! Then the 3rd floor when you have those interactive characters that tell you about the synagogue and olive oil. I love how the restaurant on the top floor is called Manna and I had the tuna salad sandwich with fries. Very yummy. It met my expectations, and they were pretty high.

We traveled to DC for our 50th wedding anniversary and celebrate the 250th. Decided at the last minute to see the museum. Unique interactive museum. Unfortunately, pricey and very commercialized. Most of the major advertisements were replicas. The section where actors are used is excellent. The video tours were excellent. The historical framework for demonstrating the role of the Bible in American history was outstanding. So many rude and imposing tourists for my taste.

I saw some very interesting things but after having been to Israel I already knew a lot of stuff. Still worth seeing.

Excellent museum. When I read that the estimated time spent here was 3-5 hours, I was skeptical. I was blown away that we came to the end of our tour and we had spent 5 and a half hours! The museum is Excellent and very engaging!
