The museum itself was good and the Boy Grorge hologram was amazing but our experience was spoilt half way through by a large group of students who were running around and shouting to each other. The interactive room was full but we expected this if it was busy.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback and I'm sorry to hear your visit was spoilt by an unruly group. On arrival, student groups are given a special introduction covering museum etiquette and the importance of respecting other visitors. Following this, they are accompanied around the museum by their tutors who are instructed to monitor behaviour. Staff also offer a friendly reminder when needed. I assure you this is not a regular occurrence, and hope it will not deter you from visiting again. Your ticket is valid for 12 months from purchase so we hope to see you again soon.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ British Music Experience, Liverpool is absolutely brilliant! I went with my granddaughter, daughter and my partner and we had such a laugh together. From playing the drums to dancing our hearts out in the interactive booths, it’s impossible not to get involved. What makes it even better is that your ticket lasts all year, so you can come back for more musical fun. The tea room quiz was a lovely surprise too—great fun and a nice way to relax after all the action. A fantastic experience for all ages and something I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Liverpool. We loved every minute!
Thank you so much for your review - it's great to hear you enjoyed your time with us. We also have a quiz sheet for the exhibition space, so be sure to pick one up next time you visit.
Brilliant place to visit if you love music. There is the history of music n the different genres from the 50s right up till now. You can interact, listen and learn with many of the displays. And there is also an instrument area near the end to see if you have a hidden talent on the guitar, drums etc. Only thing I’d say is. The entry is a bit expensive. But it is a great experience
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we really appreciate it. Your ticket is valid for 12 months from purchase so we hope to see you again soon.
An outstanding museum packed with fascinating information and incredible memorabilia, an absolute must-visit for any music lover. I especially want to give a huge shout-out to Joe, who is a real gem to the museum. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and even took the time to give my son some guitar tips as he’s just beginning his musical journey. Joe is an exceptionally talented guitarist, and we really appreciated his warmth and expertise. We’ll definitely be back to continue our music learning using the free return visit included with our tickets. Well done, Joe — fantastic customer experience! 👏
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review, we really appreciate it. We do all we can to make every visit as memorable as possible, so Joe will be delighted to hear your feedback.
Wonderful musical experience. We bought our earbuds and downloaded the app to follow the guide whilst we walked around - really made it. The memorabilia was interesting and musical events on the stage were great. Loved the Live Aid stuff - lots of memories. Being able to try the instruments and sing in a booth was hilarious. Great way to spend couple of hours.
Many thanks for your feedback, we're delighted to hear you enjoyed your visit. As you mentioned, the app is a great way to follow the BME timeline and take a deep dive into British music history. If you need help downloading, team members are always on hand to assist. Your ticket is valid for 12 months from purchase so we hope to see you again soon.
The exhibition and interactive element is brilliant - love the way it's split by era - and like a jukebox experience and the try yourself part was awesome. The only glaring question - why Black Sabbath aren't featured??!!! They invented a whole new genre - metal/ alternative is given such a small part compared to Britpop/ Indie yet has had a similar impact on music culture- please add more!🙏 maybe Ozzy/ Sabbath could have a visiting exhibit like Live Aid has
Hello! We are so glad to hear you had an amazing time during your visit. In response to your comments regarding Black Sabbath and generally more British Heavy Metal representation, we are in agreement! Heavy Metal is a British Music in it's origins and we would love the opportunity to display more from Sabbath as well as other legends. Unfortunately acquiring artifacts from artists can be a very non-linear, and not always successful, endeavour. A temporary Black Sabbath exhibition is an idea that's been a topic of conversation for some time. It's definitely something we'd consider if we were able to acquire enough relevant items to make it a possibility. All admission tickets are an annual pass so we hope to see you again soon.
If one thing different to do that is do this if you get a Coty Explorer Liverpool you can get this. All I’ll say is they open the doors and you go into an unbelievable array of music memorabilia of decades. If you love music you’re love this.

Lots of information but well overpriced. Lots of better museums to visit in Liverpool such as the museum of Liverpool which is free
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with the experience and felt it was overpriced. We base our admission prices on comparable attractions in the area and offer each admission ticket as an annual pass. With all we have to offer, we feel we provide great value for money. As a non-profit charity, each ticket is a donation which helps to maintain our collection of over 600 artefacts.
A well thought out museum Lots of memories Located on the Mersey Easy to get around Staff friendly Lots of visual and audio displays
Must see for anyone who has an interest in British music thru the decades. Lots of displays, with artefacts and you also had the option to play instruments. They also had half hourly shows on the big screen of artists.
