- Les plongeurs doivent être conscients des dangers en altitude. Si vous prévoyez de faire de la plongée sous-marine, ne prévoyez pas d'aller au sommet dans les 24 heures suivant votre plongée en raison de l'altitude.
- Vous devrez porter une chaussure à bout fermé et un pantalon long. Nous vous recommandons d'apporter un sweat ou un pull pour superposer.
- Vous devrez apporter vos propres bouteilles d'eau. prestataire assurera les recharges d'eau filtrée.
- Veuillez indiquer votre taille de parka (petit, moyen, grand, x-large ou xx-large) et le choix de vos repas au moment de la réservation. Si vous ne l'indiquez pas au moment de la réservation, vous devrez contacter directement le voyagiste.
- Il y a un minimum de marche sur cette visite, le maximum étant d'environ 150 mètres. Veuillez noter que nous ne pouvons pas accueillir de personnes avec un fauteuil roulant pliable. Tous les clients doivent pouvoir entrer et sortir de nos véhicules par eux-mêmes, et marcher confortablement sur un terrain accidenté avec un éclairage limité par eux-mêmes.
- La route d'accès au Mauna Kea est à quatre roues motrices seulement, donc elle peut être cahoteuse. Les fourgons de transport tout-terrain personnalisés vous mèneront au sommet et au retour en toute sécurité et confort. Les camionnettes peuvent transporter un maximum de 12 passagers
- La neige est saisonnière à Maunakea, avec les chutes de neige les plus fortes en hiver

It is a long day (drop off at King Kamehameha just before 11pm) but well worth it. The views and stars were lovely. Chili and cookies were delicious. It does get cold so dress warmly.
Other worldly environment. Unfortunately we did not get a sunset experience or proper star gazing with telescopes because of rain. They did refund some of the tour because of that. A long day but overall a cool experience.
The tour itself was great, our guide Aaron was very professional. The sunset view up on top of the mountain was breathtaking. The parka provided was life-saving and the hot soup before the climb and the hot coco after were a nice touch. During start-gazing, we were combined with another group and the guide from the other group made racially charged comments towards Asian tourists which was unbelievably rude and condescending.
Fantastic experience. Our guide was informative, fun and a great astronomer. It was an experience of a lifetime. Moana kea is a special place everyone should visit. Highly recommend

We were especially excited for stargazing with so little light pollution, but the entire experience exceeded expectations. Pick-up was easy; Eugene's history of the island on the drive was interesting; dinner was (almost surprisingly?) really tasty; then watching sunset at the top of the mountain and stargazing with the telescope were obvious highlights. Throughout, we were well taken care of, from clear communication to cozy blankets to lay on while looking up at the stars. We really enjoyed this experience, and special thanks to Eugene for everything! A lovely, memorable night that we could not have done on our own!

I’m so impressed with the all-encompassing nature of this activity. Every detail is well thought out and at each stage I thought: wow, there’s still more to come! But the highlight was truly our very knowledgeable guides, Jason and Aaron. They shared so much of their knowledge, as well as local culture and history. If you’re on the fence, just book it! Well worth the price to have these memories!

Second time doing this tour and there will be a third, fourth and fifth. Seeing the galaxies and constellations from Mauna Kea will never get old. You literally drive through clouds ro get there. Once acclimated at 9,000 feet the guide takes you all the way to the top (over 14,000 feet) to watch the sunset. It's otherworldly to be above the clouds, watching the suns set. Then, the guide takes you back to 9,000 feet and breaks the telescopes out so you can see the constellations. This is an experience that will never get old, ans you will always learn something new.

Wonderful experience stargazing at the Mauankea summit area with Hawaii Forest & Trail yesterday. Our guide, Jeff, was fantastic--kind, funny, and deeply knowledgeable about the island and the skies. Reaching the summit to watch the sunset was incredible, but the best part of the experience was stargazing with Jeff. It was magical! I was really impressed with his knowledge and passion. Tour was a highlight of our trip to the Big Island. Given the length of the trip and the quality of the experience (comfortable van, parkas, gloves, and blankets provided, as well as delicious dinner and the most delectable cookies, I would say the trip is priced quite reasonably. My husband doesn't love tours and I was nervous how he would feel about it, but he was effusive about our guide and the opportunity to stargaze in such a remote location--high praise! I am eager to return to Hawaii to try another of their tours! Mahalo to Jeff for making the visit memorable.

Our experience was incredible. Jeff, our guide, and as incredibly knowledgeable on anything volcano related, Hawaiian culture, understanding island ecology and had a vast understanding of our universe! He was funny too. He really was the highlight of the trip, alongside the sunset and stargazing. Would highly recommend, and ask for Jeff!
