So cool to see animals in their natural environment. The ride up was extremely scenic and the property and food was amazing.

Aquila was very nice, but not quite what I expected, but definitely worth a one time visit. My complaint was with Viator or the tour operator and their lack of clear communication. I was given 2 different pick up times from my hotel, so the day before the excursion the hotel called the tour operator to confirm the pick up time and they told me 8:30am (which ended up being a THIRD pick up time) At midnight the night before they called and said it was at 6am. Big difference. Our driver (who was wonderful) also got a call at midnight telling him to pick us up at 6am so he too wasn’t communicated with. Upon arrival, the staff at Aquila had no idea we were coming. Viator or the tour operator never sent in our reservation. We had to sit around and wait for 2 hours to go into the park. We were offered (but also charged) for breakfast while we sat and waited but the previous group cleaned it out and there was nothing but scraps left. No reservations were made at Fairview winery either, and they were shocked when we showed up. They had to squeeze us in. (Fairview was wonderful) I contacted Viator for a partial refund from the tour operator for our inconvenience with the transportation (which was a separate charge from Aquila and Fairview) but was denied. I’m not sure who dropped the ball with the transportation and reservations but was very disappointed with that aspect.
Our excursion to Fairview Winery and Aquila Safari Park was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, everything was beautifully organized, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy the experience. A special mention to our drive Mohamet, who truly made the day even more enjoyable. He was punctual, professional, and incredibly friendly throughout the journey. His safe driving and local knowledge gave us complete peace of mind and added a personal touch to the entire experience.
I'm under the greatest impression of safari. Saw a lot of exotic animals. Lions pride - literally from 10m away. Elephant family let it very close, too. Hippopotamus were certainly shot from afar. Great organization - it starts with Wecome Drink, then free lunch, local dance group performs, very beautiful and exotic. Only then the tour - and there is also a stop for local wonderful drinks! The ranger details the habits of each beast. Great gift shop. If you're in Cape Town, it's just a must-see! Thank you Charlene and Patwell for your patience and friendliness in arranging the booking.

😊 "I just had an amazing time in the park! 🌳 I'd give it 5 stars! I saw a beautiful sunset, had a picnic with friends, and even spotted some birds 🐦. The grass was so green and soft, perfect for lounging around. We played some games, laughed a lot, and just relaxed. The best part was seeing kids playing and getting all energetic 😄. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, would definitely come back!"

Our visit to Aquila game reserve safari was an unforgettable experience! The reserve offers a true taste of Africa wildlife just a short drive from Cape Town. We had the chance to see the big five - lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, and even a shy leopard- all in their natural habitat. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, sharing interesting facts about the animals and conversation efforts. The scenery was breathtaking, from wide open plains to mountain backdrops, and the lunch buffet was delicious with great local dishes. Everything was well organised, from the pickup to the game drive and return trip. A perfect day for anyone who loves nature and adventure. **Highly recommended for an authentic south
Thank you
Aquila Game Reserve is a must-visit for anyone wanting a real safari experience near Cape Town. The reserve is beautiful and peaceful, filled with incredible wildlife and stunning landscapes. Our guide made the trip even more special with his knowledge and passion for the animals. We saw elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, and many other species up close — truly amazing! The facilities were clean and comfortable, and the food was great too. Everything ran smoothly from pickup to drop-off, making it a stress-free and memorable adventure. Recommended for families, couples, and anyone looking to experience the magic of Africa’s wildlife.
Thank you

I am writing to formally request a full refund for the safari tour I booked through TripAdvisor/Viator on [06 February 2025], costing $323.80. When I initially attempted to make the booking, the payment got stuck, prompting me to call your helpline at (+1 702 648 5873). I spoke to a representative (Hazel) who not only assisted with the payment but also clearly explained that the booking included a full-day safari and lunch. After the payment was successfully processed, I received a confirmation for the tour. However, to my shock and disappointment, when my friends arrived at Aquila, they were stopped by the tour operators and asked to pay an additional 3500 ZAR. It was only then that we discovered that the amount I paid only covered wine and transport—without the actual safari tour. This serious miscommunication and misinformation completely ruined their plans, leaving them with no choice but to leave without experiencing the safari they had anticipated. Such a lack of clarity and misguidance from a reputable platform like Viator/TripAdvisor is unacceptable. This has caused unnecessary stress, inconvenience, and financial loss. Given that we were unable to avail of the tour as expected, I strongly urge you to issue a full refund for the amount paid. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and expect a resolution at the earliest. Please confirm the refund process at your earliest convenience.
Thank you for taking the time to share this with us, and I’m truly sorry for the frustration and disappointment you experienced. This is certainly not the type of service or clarity we aim to provide. We understand how upsetting it must have been for your friends to arrive at Aquila expecting a full-day safari and lunch, only to be informed that the tour was not included. Miscommunication of this nature is unacceptable, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and distress it caused. Please know that we take situations like this very seriously. We have already flagged this matter internally and will be contacting Viator/TripAdvisor to investigate the booking details and ensure such misunderstandings do not happen again. We fully support your request for a refund, and we encourage you to proceed with Viator/TripAdvisor’s refund process so they can resolve this promptly. If you need any supporting documentation from our side, we will gladly assist. Thank you once again for bringing this to our attention. We hope to make this right and appreciate your patience while the refund is processed.
