Marangu Gate (1 800 m / 5 905 pieds) à Mandara Hut (2 743 m / 9 000 pieds) Gain d'altitude: 915 mètres, 3 000 pieds Quittez tôt Moshi, une ville animée et colorée, pour vous rendre à la porte de Marangu, le seuil du magnifique Kilimandjaro. Il est à seulement une heure de route, mais vous serez captivé par la campagne - plantations de café et de bananes, à travers le pittoresque village de Marangu, avec le Kilimandjaro se levant majestueusement devant vous. Nous vous enregistrerons à la porte Marangu (parce que nous ne voulons pas vous perdre!) Et votre aventure commencera. Au début, le sentier strié est étroit lorsque vous vous promenez dans la forêt tropicale. C'est luxuriant et brumeux, avec des arbres ornés de mousse. Le ciel couvert est couvert de chants d'oiseaux et de bruissements étranges - est-ce un colobe? La mangouste pourrait filer devant vous. Vous rencontrerez également des randonneurs fatigués descendant du sommet. Donnez-leur cinq pour l'effort. La randonnée vers le refuge Mandara dure environ trois heures, alors arrêtez-vous pour reposer vos jambes et savourez un délicieux déjeuner au refuge et une fois que vous vous êtes reconstitué, faites la promenade courte mais difficile jusqu'au cratère Maundi. Par temps clair, les vues à l'est sur Taveta et au nord-ouest sur le pic Mawenzi sont magnifiques. N'oubliez pas votre appareil photo! Après avoir profité de la beauté de celui-ci, vous redescendrez vers la porte de Marangu où notre véhicule vous attendra pour vous ramener, fatigué mais heureux, à Moshi. Cette randonnée d'une journée au Kilimandjaro convient à la plupart des gens, même si vous êtes un peu inapte!

AMAZING! We had no clue what to expect as we are not hikers. The views gorgeous. Hike took about 8 hours which we weren’t prepared for but our guides were so sweet. They allowed us to go our pace. Then we danced and sang the whole way back. They showed us the best little picture spots. Took a million photos of us. We had a WHOLE time. 10/10 recommend!!!
