À Avebury, vous vous demandez pourquoi les habitants du néolithique ont construit le plus grand cercle de pierres d'Europe. À Lacock, vous vous demandez comment cette superbe abbaye a réussi à être un couvent, une brasserie, une boulangerie et une maison. Et à Bath, vous réfléchissez à ce que la Grande-Bretagne aurait été si les Romains n’avaient jamais visité. Donc, lors de cette visite, nous vous donnons le temps d’enquêter sur les secrets et de comprendre la beauté de ces lieux historiques célèbres. Votre guide vous permettra de vous promener dans les rues de Bath, où l’architecture géorgienne se mêle sans effort à d’anciens artefacts romains. Vous vous rendez à Lacock, où les vieilles ruelles branlantes ont été utilisées comme lieu de tournage pour Harry Potter, l’Abbaye de Downton, et Pride and Prejudice. Et vous vous aventurez à Avebury, où les monuments de pierre ont séduit les visiteurs, les historiens et les archéologues pendant des siècles. Personne ne sait pourquoi les druides ont créé ce monument. Mais nous savons qu'il est plus grand et plus vieux que Stonehenge.
Après le déjeuner, nous voyageons profondément dans le Wiltshire rural jusqu'au village de Lacock, célèbre pour ses rues pittoresques, ses bâtiments historiques et son rôle de lieu de télévision et de cinéma. L'abbaye au cœur du village possède son propre terrain boisé et est une maison de campagne originale avec des styles architecturaux fascinants. Temps libre pour flâner dans Lacock ou visiter l'Abbaye (une partie de Harry Potter a été filmée dans le magnifique cloître de cette ancienne abbaye).
Notre dernier arrêt de la journée se fera dans l'ancienne ville thermale romaine de Bath. Cette ville est habitée depuis environ 2 000 ans. Il y a des thermes romains, une architecture géorgienne et une magnifique abbaye à voir. C'est une ville fascinante à explorer, nous vous laissons donc suffisamment de temps pour vous promener à votre rythme avant de retourner à Londres en début de soirée.

- Franchise de bagages : Vous êtes limité à 20 kg (44 lb) de bagages par personne. Il devrait s'agir d'un bagage semblable à un bagage à main d'une compagnie aérienne (environ 55 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm / 22 po x 17 po x 10 po) plus un petit sac pour les objets personnels à bord.

Would have liked more time in Avebury to walk the stones and add a map of the paths. More time I Lothian with a walking map. Less time in the bigger city of Bath.
It was a comfortable ride, great tour guides who were greatly informed about the area. Every stop was beautiful and worth it. Two issues: Sound system needs improvement. I couldn’t make out a lot of what guide was saying over the PA system. Muffled. Hard to hear exactly what was said. It was also a bit hard to find the starting spot (I gave myself a lot of extra time to find it, which I’d recommend). Lastly, there was no toilet to use when we returned to London after a 3 plus hour ride from Bath. That was rough! Had to sprint across the street and locate toilet in Victoria Station. Just be aware of that!
Our guide/driver was terrific. The only thing that detracted from the experience was how little time we actually had in Bath. Once we arrived, we pretty much had to choose between eating and seeing as much of the town as we had hoped and expected to. We could've lived without the stop at Lacock. We would much rather have spent the time we could have saved by not going there, in Bath. We realize that the tube strike on the day we went slowed things down, but Lacock did not offer much despite it being a quaint hamlet.
Well worth the time and cost. There was much to see and learn. Our guide was very good as well.
The sites are completely self directed, which is fine, but different frkm several of the other tours The directions on the meetup spot from Viator were wrong and we nearly missed the tour. I'd advise that you double check via message about the pickup spot for the tour.
It was a small group. The driver was also our guide. He did a great job considering he had to fill two positions so to speak. He was very friendly and informative.
not enough time in bath to see everything and to much time at other stops with not much to see long trip by bus .
the travel time is quite long. the various stops are quite pleasant. The stone circle visit was much more interesting than bath.
Countryside lovely! Enjoyed & appreciated Rabbie's smaller bus w under 16 travelers! Wonderful tour company! Graham( Scottish) & the gentleman from Turkey were A+ tour directors. Fun, entertaining & educational narrations of locations visited! Wonderful day!👍😄
Rabbie's is our favorite tour group. The drivers are very interesting and helpful. The only negative was the length of time at Avebury. We found a restroom, grabbed a coffee and snapped a few nearby pics. The site is huge, and could probably use a full 90 minute stop. Lacock was pretty in the spring. Bath was a longer stop but we chose lunch and people watching instead of touring the baths. Our favorite part was a detour that routed us through some narrow country lanes, off the beaten track.
