Description
Catherine was very well educated and versed in the history of the area. She had wonderful interesting facts that most people never would have known! It is very helpful to understand the history of the area when visiting and I recommend this tour.
Catherine was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable in history of the town and area. She was very friendly and we enjoyed talking with her. This was our first trip to Bar Harbor and we were glad we took this tour.
Great, well-paced tour with the very knowledgeable Catherine! I needed to rebook my original tour date/time due to a late arrival caused by a delayed flight, and Catherine was very accommodating. Good communication prior to and during tour. Multiple neat houses/POIs are included on this tour (including the house that was the last home of the Hope Diamond.) Overall, a great introduction to BH and its history!
Our tour guide was very good. She knew so much about Bar Harbor. We enjoyed walking around seeing the homes and hearing the stories.
Thanks for the kind words and glad you who the tour! Great to meet you!
This was a ripoff. We told Catherine we were arriving on a cruise ship and would need time to get to the meeting place. Catherine told us we has enough time, but only gave us a place name in Bar Harbor. Not being familiar with the city, we had no idea where we were going or how long it would take. We texted her to let her know we were on the way, then tried to call. No answer. We got no help nor any information to help us. When we finally arrived at the meeting place about 15 minutes late, Catherine was nowhere to be found. She did not pick up the phone (we called multiple times) and did not respond to our many text messages. Catherine simply refused to communicate with us. And she has refused to refund our payment for a tour we did not get despite the fact we did all we could to get from the dock to the meeting place as quickly as we could with no directions. Do no book this tour!
I have requested this review be removed as the customer has not provided an accurate representation of their experience. Our tour will always wait 15 minutes if the full group is not there, as it did this day, and the first two stops are within eye sight of the park.
We enjoyed our tour and learning more about the town’s history. Catherine clearly knows the town and history really well. She had a lot of fun facts and interesting tidbits. She also grew up coming here so she gave a local vibe. We would not have explored the side streets and history as much on our own! It was fun.
Thanks for the review, I appreciate the kind words. It was great to meet you!
Catherine did a great job and provided a ton of information about the history of Bar Habor. I enjoyed the fact that this was a quick 1.5 hour walking tour. I felt like we were able to get a better feel for the town versus a bus tour.
tour cancelled at last minute by operator due to medical reason. no tour for us. sorry no information from us. good bye. have a nice day.
I apologize again for the cancellation. This was certainly not how a regular day goes and I hope if you ever come back to Maine you give us another chance!
Catherine was an awesome guide. We learned our way around and saw all the sites. She shared lots of history about Bar Harbor (formerly Eden), the whole island and Acadia National Park. She also gave us great recommendations for places to eat and shop! A truly wonderful tour at a bargain price.
