Outrageous experience – dishonest claimant and no solution I booked several weeks in advance a “luxury” hot air balloon flight at sunrise on January 1st via Headout, operated by the local supplier DO Mo Tours Egypt, represented by Mr. Zeinab. 👉 The night before (December 31 at 8pm), Mr Zeinab informs me that the flight will not finally take place at sunrise, but at 6:40am, when the sun rose at 6:31am. 👉 It justifies this change with a so-called flight ban, which is false: many hot air balloons took off well at sunrise that morning. I have pictures that prove it. 👉 Another problem: the program included photos and video during the flight. The same day, I am told that I have to pay extra. 👉 Headout then assures me that I will receive these photos/videos via a link, which is also false: I never received anything. Result: ❌ missed sunrise on January 1st ❌ promised benefits not respected ❌ false information ❌ wasted experience for a moment that must have been exceptional Most shocking is Headout’s response, which hides behind its local provider and only offers me a credit of $42.25 on a future booking, which is totally unacceptable in view of the damage suffered. ➡️ I strongly advise against DO Mo Tours Egypt and Headout. Lack of professionalism, lack of transparency and no real customer service in case of problems
Thank you for your review. We would like to clarify that this review appears to have been posted to the wrong company page. The guest did not make a direct booking with us, as clearly stated in the review itself. The reservation was made through another platform and a different service provider. Therefore, the issues mentioned are related to the third-party platform and the local operator assigned by them, not to our company. We kindly request the reviewer to verify the company name and booking details and, if necessary, post the review on the correct page so it reaches the responsible party. Thank you for your understanding.
RUN AWAY! SCAM! I advise you not to go through them. There are so many points: -the hot air balloon either you're lucky and you have a good pilot or you're in the fields for 20 minutes -we had to have a private guide, we are finally four with Japanese, our guide urged us to go fast while translating into both languages... - our guide describes the sights in the car and then goes to “the cafeteria” while we visit alone: because he considers it not “interesting” – we ask him to add the tomb of Tutankhamun, he asks us 20 euros per additional person, then 15 euros then finally 10 euros for 10 minutes of explanation... knowing that the tickets are not included. – finally our guide was not even aware that the temple of luxor was included in the tour, he quickly tells us 5 minutes in the car and tells us to go alone. In short fortunate that the city is beautiful, the sites incredible, and that it did not ruin our trip. But I advise you not to go through them, I don’t even see the point of paying them, the guide is hardly useful, and the hot air balloon depends on your chance to have a good driver. It’s sloppy, no respect, and Zeineb serves absolutely no purpose.
Dear Guest, We are sorry to read your review and regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, several points mentioned in your comment require important clarification, as they contain inaccuracies and subjective interpretations. Hot air balloon flight: Balloon flight duration and landing location depend entirely on weather conditions and aviation safety regulations. Landing in open fields is normal and part of the experience, not an indication of pilot skill or “luck.” All our pilots are licensed and operate under strict safety procedures. Guide and tour organization: This product is a combined tour (balloon flight + full-day sightseeing), and the guiding service is provided according to availability and operational logistics. A “private guide” is only guaranteed when explicitly booked and confirmed as such. Multilingual guiding may occur when guests of different nationalities are scheduled on the same tour. Site explanations and visits: Guides may provide explanations during transfers as well as on-site, depending on timing, crowd management, and operational flow. Any personal interpretation of what is “interesting” does not reflect company policy. Additional sites and payments: The Tomb of Tutankhamun is not included in standard itineraries, as clearly stated on Viator. Any additional explanation time or optional site visits are subject to extra charges determined by official regulations and guide availability. Entrance tickets are always paid separately, as indicated in the tour description. Luxor Temple: Luxor Temple is included as a visit, and explanations may be provided either during transfer or on-site depending on the schedule. Guests are never abandoned, and instructions are always given clearly. We also regret the use of offensive language and personal attacks, including naming individuals, which does not reflect a fair or objective review of the service. Despite your criticism, we appreciate your acknowledgment of Luxor’s beauty and its incredible historical sites. We always encourage guests to carefully read the tour inclusions and exclusions before booking and to communicate any concerns directly so they can be addressed in real time. Kind regards,
Let me write a short review for one of my Egypt tour guides. So, I visited tour to Edful and Qom. And if you are that person who likes adventure, then you would like this. Otherwise, pretty sure you won't. I got picked up last minute, super earlier than I was expected. But the person did tell me that that was going to happen. So the person who picked me up was a 19-year-old, super reckless driver. I mean, he's a 19-year-old. Um, didn't understand what I was saying or asking because he didn't speak English. He only took me to very expensive, um, places. And the whole thing was a scam. Except the tour to the temple. So once we got to the temple, I met the tour for that temple. Especially the tour, the best tour that I've ever had in the whole trip with Mahmood
I booked this tour because I have a Japanese guide. From the time I booked, I was suspicious because they wanted to avoid talking to me via TripAdvisor and instead communicate with me via the WhatsApp app, so I regularly checked the tour details and movements on the day. I had a bad feeling about it, and the day before the tour, they offered me an extra 10 € for the transfer to the airport, 35 € for the Japanese guide, and 30 € for going to the tomb of King Tutankhamun. The airport was included in the list of pick-up and drop-off services, and there was no mention of an extra charge for a Japanese guide. (In the first place, I requested airport transfers and a Japanese guide a month and a half before departure.) Going to the tomb of King Tutankhamun was part of the original trip, so I didn't understand the point of having to pay extra, but I paid too much to fly to Luxor to get on a balloon, so I didn't want to be cancelled over there, so I asked if I could cut the price to at least 60€ and he agreed. However, when the attendant asked me to pay the extra fee before boarding the balloon, I was offered the amount in Egyptian pounds and it was not long before I could confirm it. I later checked my statement and found that I had been debited 85€, and when I phoned him during the tour, he said, "You had fun ballooning, didn't you? You're going on a Nile cruise now, aren't you?" He switched the point and couldn't talk about it. (Strictly 87€, as there was also a card usage fee) In addition, the Japanese-language guide was arranged after the balloon disembarkation, and all instructions on precautions before boarding the balloon were given in English, so we boarded the boat with considerable anxiety without knowing. We were not accompanied by Egyptologists and the balloon boarded for about 40 minutes, only after the sun had fully risen. The car was a normal car, and I was not accompanied by a photographer. I think it would be a fraud in Japan, but when I thought that if I was told this was national, I would have to go to bed crying, and it was frustrating and I couldn't really enjoy it because I felt quite heavy with my friends during the tour. (I'm sorry that the Japanese guide who accompanied me tried so hard to make the atmosphere cheerful.) If you messaged me asking for a refund, I would ignore it, and there is no other trip with such a bad aftertaste. I hope that those who see this post will not be harmed, and I will wait for TripAdvisor to respond.
Hello Dear customer We do appreciate your time but we think it it's something wrong and misunderstanding cuz you Said many extra things and we think you did write wrong link. So it's hard for us to provide bad services. Thank you so much Dr Mo Tours Egypt team
I used it this time, but there are no archaeologists or photographers included, and the drink is water given to me at mealtime. I was contacted the day before and got an extra 80€ per person for arranging a Japanese-speaking guide and Tutankhamun's grave (not including entrance fee & no detailed explanation). There is no mention of any guide-by-guide arrangements on this page, and Tutankhamun's grave, which was originally listed at an extra cost, was threatened and forced to be paid for before ballooning. I called and asked for a refund, but they switched the story and ignored my message. I definitely don't recommend it to Japanese people. I hope there is no further damage.

There are two hot air balloons to choose from (sunrise and morning), but this one is definitely better!!! Guide is an academic who graduated from Cairo University. He explained the history of Egypt in fluent Japanese. Thanks to you, the "taste" of the ruins and temples was further deepened. I really appreciated it.

Beautiful sunrise balloon ride. We experienced the inflating of the balloon and then the 45 minute ride and then the deflating of the balloon and disembarking the basket. The view was beyond spectacular with both high an low altitudes. The crew was fun with singing and drums as we took flight. The initial communication was delayed which caused a 1 hour wait. The car was NOT luxury as mentioned in the advertisement.
