Highly recommend this tour. The Wachau Valley is beautiful and by bike even better. Our Reegan was very knowledgeable about the valley and the vineyards. It was a long day but a ton fun with Reegan and a small group of riders from the: UK, Netherlands, Portugal, Australia & US!
Departure was on time. There was no opportunity to fill or buy water before we boarded the train and one chance before getting on the bikes. Once should be enough but just in case you thought you’d ‘wait’. Don’t. Nicholas was very knowledgeable and each vintner that we met was a charismatic and engaging person. The story of their wines and vineyards is fascinating. The bikes were in tiptop shape and easy to ride. It is an all day event so bring a backpack or small bag with sunscreen and a few snacks . Lunch was good but only 2 choices. If you’re selective or have a dietary need tell the guide and they’ll be sure your needs are met.
This was truly the highlight of our trip. Biking through the.Wachau valley was absolutely gorgeous. The wine tasting was incredibly fun. We had a lovely lunch in Durnstein and had time to explore the lovely village and also climb to see the ruins where Richard of Lionhart was held captive. I’d recommend doing that for anyone that can do a hike because the views are spectacular. Sonne our guide was incredibly fun and accommodating.

We had a really fun day with Anna. She was very knowledgeable about the Wachau Valley and about the processes and approaches to winemaking that are used there. The sampling was enjoyable and we decided to buy several bottles to bring home, but we were limited by what we could carry! It was great to get out of the city and see the beautiful Wachau Valley after the very hot days we'd had before tour. We visited one small vineyard, then lunch and free time in Durnstein, then one more vineyard, then back to the train and Vienna. The bicycles were very nice and well-maintained. E-bikes are not an option and none of us needed extra help from an e-bike. It IS a bicycle tour, so you should know how to ride a bike and be able to ride for several hours.
Thank you for your detailed and lovely feedback! We're so glad you enjoyed the day and had a great time exploring the Wachau Valley, the tastings, and the scenery. It's wonderful to hear the ride and the bikes worked well for you and that you appreciated the balance of activity and free time. We truly appreciate your recommendation! Our family of four had a great time on this bike tour through a part of Wachau - it was one of the highlights of our holiday. The quality of the bikes provided was very high, and the experience of riding along the river and through the villages, across bridges, and even taking a river ferry was very special. Our guide was super friendly and accommodating, and we enjoyed the diverse group (totaling 8) that came along on the tour. As the tour title suggests, this is much more of a wine tasting tour vs a winery tour — think small shops and tasting rooms vs exploring the winemaking process. It’s a great day trip as a break from monumental Vienna, and we’d recommend highly for people who like to get outside and off the beaten path a bit.

Amazing bike ride through a beautiful wine valley with stops and tastings along the way. Picturesque and stunning views. Ron the tour guide offered us a personalised tour with only a few of us letting us stop when we needed with a wealth of knowledge for the region. English speaking tour however Ron fluent in multiple languages. A day well worth it! Need to be active enough to manage the ride. Thanks

We had an amazing day on bikes with Sana. We visited 2 wineries, both with excellent tastings. The bike ride was flat and we saw so much on the Danube. Most of the ride was on bike trails. Lunch was extra but very good. This was a highlight of our holiday !!! PS bicycles were excellent!!

We were a group of 15 traveling through Wacau on Viking. We wanted to do something different than what the ship was offering and found a bike tour in Wacau. Although the weather wasn’t perfect it was still a great day. Beautiful scenery, leisurely biking, a great lunch and discovered some really good wine! Thank you Veronica and thank you to Bram for all your help and patience in coordinating
