La visite commence dans nos écuries pour continuer à travers la « Réserve El Silencio » ; un endroit calme avec des sentiers qui grimpent progressivement à travers les champs de pâturage du bétail jusqu'aux parcelles de forêt. Vous apprécierez les grands arbres d'ombrage et la variété de la flore et de la faune. Nous visiterons le cratère de la lagune et le point de vue du volcan Arenal, deux des attractions les plus impressionnantes de la région. De ce point de vue, vous pourrez prendre des photos époustouflantes de votre cheval avec le volcan en toile de fond. Ici, vous observerez également d'impressionnantes montagnes rocheuses ; le produit des éruptions passées du volcan. Si tout le monde connaissait les bienfaits de l’équitation comme activité récréative, nous n’aurions pas assez de chevaux. Ressentez comment chaque galop augmente votre estime de soi, votre confiance en vous et votre amour pour les créatures vivantes, et vous fait même oublier l'existence des téléphones portables, sauf pour prendre une bonne photo. Même Sigmund Freud ne pouvait pas obtenir les mêmes résultats qu’une simple balade à cheval !
Après cette promenade relaxante, nous retournerons à l’écurie, où notre transport nous attendra pour nous emmener à la prochaine partie de l’aventure d’aujourd’hui. Nous conduirons 30 minutes jusqu'à la cascade La Fortuna où nous commencerons par une marche de 300 mètres (984 pieds) en descendant des marches et des aires de repos confortables jusqu'à la base de l'impressionnante cascade. Votre guide naturaliste expert partagera des informations intéressantes sur les aspects géologiques des formations rocheuses et sur l'histoire des hautes colonnes de basalte qui ont donné naissance à cette cascade. Le sentier se termine juste devant la puissante cascade de 70 mètres (230 pieds), qui est l'endroit idéal pour prendre des photos impressionnantes. Vous pouvez nager dans la rivière à la base, mais pas trop près des chutes. La combinaison de ces deux activités en fait une expérience inoubliable.

Total blast! Best horseback riding tour I have ever been on. They let us really ride not just walk single file. Scenery was beautiful and guides were great!

This was booked through our nice resort at Nayara tented camp so I assumed it would be an awesome experience. It wasn’t and I wish we had canceled. We were given an option to do a late cancel because of the rain but we decided to go anyway but asked if we could push the time back 20 minutes. I am not sure if that is what made the entire experience feel rushed. We were the only family going. We went with our 3 children ages - 16, 14, and 11. We were given absolutely no instructions on how to control the horse. 2 of the horses didn’t like eachother and were biting and it was scary being a passenger. The horses in general didn’t seem very well trained. My daughter’s horse was very slow and she didn’t have instruction on how to stay with the group so was left way behind. Our guide didn’t tell us much about anything or any of the sights. He only stopped once to speak and only my husband could hear him. Our guide basically didn’t even really guide us. He was just there. It was also much quicker, probably a hour. But honestly we were all ready to be done even though we paid for a longer experience. Definitely wouldn’t book this experience again. The worst tour we had out of 4.
Best guides. Best quality trail horses and they have over 20 in their stable so you always get a happy rested horse, ready for a great ride. I have enjoyed this tour before and and I will do it again. Entrance into Silencio forest is included.
Our family of 4 (kids age 9 and 12) did the horseback riding of El Silencio Preserve. The guides were kind and very good with the horses. Horses all looked healthy and were easy to ride. Along the way, guides pointed out a snake and helped us get photos, and they also arranged us at the highest point in the ride for some family photos. Kids really enjoyed it. Great activity and tour of the preserve!
Due to weather conditions, our horseback tour (my husband and myself) was reimagined. We were taken on an extensive ride through the ranch property at the foot of the volcano. This was follow by a lovely 5 course luncheon on the grounds of the Jacamar farm as we could not be delivered the usual tour luncheon. What a first seemed like a disappointment became an adventure followed by an unexpected treat. It was a very good day thanks to Jacamar.
Loved both the horseback riding and waterfall portions of the tour! It was a great way to see the highlights of the area and learn about the history!
