Best tour in Philadelphia! Covers history of women that aren't mentioned in the texts I had in school. Zoe was an awesome tour guide; even treated our group to an extra stop.
What a wonderful tour! Zoe showed up on time, was very nice, spoke well and answered our. She clearly enjoys her city and its diverse character. Who knew about all these other things that happened here? If you are looking to learn about Independence Hall or Benjamin Franklin, a more traditional tour might be a better match for you.
Thanks so much for your review! We're so glad you enjoyed your tour with Zoe.
I visited Philly for the first time and wanted to do some type of history tour, but I wanted something that was unique and more in tuned with my personal interests. The Badass Woman's History Tour was perfect! I learned a lot of things about some amazing women, most of whom I had never heard of before. Alice was a great tour guide and was full of cool information, plus just lovely to chat and walk around with.
We're so glad you enjoyed yourself!
Enlightening; beautiful walking tour or areas of Philly; IMportant to understand the contribution of women in the history of Philly and the lack of public recognition for women’s accomplishments
We're so glad you had a good time!
Martha did a great job highlighting amazing women! The tour was educational, thoughtful, and great experience.
We're so glad you enjoyed your tour!
A super fun way to learn about the city’s and country’s history. Shawn was an excellent guide. Was definitely a highlight of our trip.
We're so happy to hear it!
This is a fabulous way to honor important women that otherwise would be lost to history. My friend and I learned of women we never knew. Our guide was also very informative about issues of the day: the struggles the National Park Service are having preserving accurate history, especially regarding slavery.
Thank you for your kind review! We hope to see you again.
We had alice as out tour guide and she was AMAZING! She was knowledgeable and passionate about the history of "bad-ass" women of Philly. I go on historical waking tours wherever I go and consider myself well read but I learned so much during this walking tour and it was so interesting! I can't recommend this tour enough for both women and men!
Thank you, Julia, for your kind review!
We need more women like Hannah Callowhill Penn who assumed the duties of governorship when her husband William Penn languished after a series of strokes. She ran the state of Pennsylvania for many years after thwarting her oldest son’s attempts to claim the family home following his father’s death. Bad boy! Badass woman! We learned this and several other stories whilst touring the great city of Philadelphia during the Semiquincentennial celebrations. Thank goodness the guides dispensed with the typical, boring “where you from” introductions. I would have appreciated an overview, however, of what was going to happen.
We appreciate your review! Thank you for joining.
This tour was exactly what I hoped for—inspirational stories of women that are difficult to find in the large-scale historical centers. My tour guide, Alice, is a history teacher who made the experience captivating, personal, and safe—like a nice long walk with a good friend. I haven't stopped talking about this experience and I’ll remember it forever.
Aw! Thank you for your generous review.
