Description

The best food tours

My husband and I really enjoyed our BA tour with our guide Maui last week. This was our 2nd Culinary Backstreets experience. Maui was super friendly and warm and shared so much knowledge about the city's history, geography, and character and how its food traditions have evolved. We enjoyed each of the stops on the tour, especially the coffee and delicious medialunas at Los Galgos, the artsy cafe, and the meat extravaganza at the parrilla. The other members of our small group were delightful. These tours are really worth it. We're Culinary Backstreets die-hards now!

A Taste of Buenos Aries

Our guide, Maui, was exceptional. We started out at an old coffee cafe for delicious breakfast pastries, fruit and coffee. He told us about the history of the cafe, info about the pastries, immigration and so much more. Next stop, a market where he demonstrated making mate and we got a taste and learned about it and the cheese we were sampling. Again, during an Argentine pizza lunch we learned more about immigrants and the origin of this amazing pizza. And there was another stop at an bar where artist gather. Meat empanadas and a delicious drink. He was a fount of info about food, the medical system, education and more. Highly recommend this tour.

An informative tour

Overall enjoyable experience, although an impending bank holiday/weekend meant some venues were closed. Almost overinformative guide who spoke good English. We didn't try any of the standard street food (empanadas etc.) Market visit informative

Excellent culinary tour

This was my second tour with Culinary Backstreet and it did not disappoint. Esteban was a great guide; he took our group to a great mix of restaurants and markets. He was knowledgeable in all aspects of Buenos Aires food, culture and customs.

Great food and guide!

We very much enjoyed our food tour with Maui. The food tastings were all very goo. Maui was a great guide and we also learned about the local neighborhoods and the immigrant influences on the food traditions.

Another intersection Culinary Backstreet tour; our 3rd.

Maui was an excellent tour guide, knew the city inside and out along with the 6 cafes that we visited. Not sure the gelato stop fit the the tour. He related the history of BA with the neighborhoods and cafes, some festive, others peaceful. Customer focused, all questions fully answered, not rushed, good recommendations, like having a friend to taste the city. All good.
