Calakmul est isolé : c'est ce qui le rend extraordinaire et c'est pourquoi le résoudre soi-même est compliqué. Oubliez la location de voiture, la recherche d'un guide ou le long trajet retour. Choisissez votre expérience, le lieu de prise en charge, et réservez : votre journée est organisée. Partez à la découverte du site du patrimoine mondial de Calakmul, une cité maya entourée d'une jungle protégée, en compagnie d'un guide professionnel ; nous nous occupons du transport et de la logistique. Trois options claires, sans conditions cachées : Zone archéologique uniquement ; Ruines + Randonnée dans la jungle ; ou Ruines + Randonnée + Grotte aux chauves-souris (plus de 3 millions de chauves-souris au coucher du soleil). Retrait possible à Bacalar, Xpujil, Chetumal et Xul-Ha ; livraison à un autre endroit sans frais supplémentaires. Prix axé sur l'essentiel : transport, guide et activités, sans suppléments. Itinéraire
Nous commençons la prise en charge puis nous nous dirigeons vers la réserve de Calakmul, le trajet dure 3 heures. Une fois dans la réserve, nous ferons une route panoramique à travers la jungle tropicale basse pendant environ une heure et demie et ne nous arrêterons que brièvement en cas d'observation d'animaux sauvages. Après avoir traversé la jungle, nous explorerons la zone archéologique de Calakmul, patrimoine mixte de l'humanité selon l'UNESCO. Nous explorons les zones ouvertes aux visiteurs, comme le centre civique et cérémonial, les structures les plus hautes de plus de 50 mètres de haut, l'observatoire solaire des équinoxes et des solstices, entre autres multiples utilisations. De nombreux bâtiments peuvent être escaladés, il est donc toujours possible d'avoir une vue que seuls les rois et les plus puissants de la ville pouvaient voir auparavant. Pendant la promenade, vous serez accompagné d'un guide qui partagera des informations relatives à ce parc de renommée mondiale qui était autrefois la colonie maya la plus redoutée et la plus glorifiée.

The stop at the convenience store at the beginning is to buy breakfast and food. Even though the tour provides water and fruit, you might crave something more. There is no stop to eat and the activity does last 12 hours. Armando the tour guide and Argus the driver are excellent people and their service is super good. They give you time to do everything, very attentive to any wildlife sightings.

If you were to visit only one Mayan archaeological site, I think the excursion to Calakmul is the most impressive because the site is completely lost in the middle of the jungle and really gives a sense of adventure. Especially since the excursion is only done in small groups (my partner and I were alone with the guide and the driver) Besides the ruins, the forest tour allowed us to spot a small toucan, spider monkeys, two turkeys, a huge black pheasant, coatis, numerous birds, and some remarkable trees. Regarding the company ABC Tours, Gerardo, the guide, knows his subject perfectly well, both on the historical and archaeological level and during the walk in the forest. Finally, Checo is an excellent driver, which deserves to be highlighted because that is not always the case in tours organized in the region.

Excellent guided tour from start to finish. Taxi arrived promptly and a lovely driver (Spanish speaker) Argeo, drove for an hour to pick up our guide for the day (English Speaker) Armando. This was a great day exploring Calakmul and the biosphere reserve. Our driver Argeo and guide Armando made us feel very welcome and made sure we were comfortable and had enough food and water for the day. Armando is a very knowledgeable and a patient tour guide. Climbing up the 3 pyramids was also an amazing experience experience. The drive there didn’t seem that long because we stopped to get food and then did the nature walk, but by the time we got to the archeological site, it was already quite hot. I would personally like to get to Calakmul earlier in the day, but I understand the nature walk had to be done in the morning. Overall a fantastic experience!!

Thank you very much to our guide Armando and our driver Argeo for their kindness and explanations throughout the day! The excursion was maintained even if we were only 2 participants, which we enjoyed! Just maybe a little downside on the surprise increase in entrance tickets since booking. For the various complementary tickets, there is a charge of 525 pesos MXN per person. (End of January 2026) Snacks to plan in advance for the day, there is not much choice on the road.

The tour was great! The guide really knew the history of Calakmul and was able to answer any questions. It was a long drive from Bacalar, but totally worth it to see this extraordinary phenomenon! During our walk we also saw howling monkeys and heard them howl, it was incredible! Make sure to bring repellent, because the mosquitos are insane, but the walk is for about 40 minutes, so it’s not that bad, just be prepared. We had a great time and really enjoyed it. It’s a full day so be prepared for a long one. Would 10/10 recommend!
