Aventure Antigua - L'Extrême Tour de Circumnavigation

Description

A very very good trip. charles the captain and his 2 very good mates kept us informed of all we past. And aided everything we wanted. We went on 29th june 2026. I would say you think its a bit expensive when you look at the tours but it was worth every dollar. One not to be missed. Gary & Tina.
I definitely would not recommend. This is very misleading. We did not swim with stingrays. They had one stingray, that I honestly think another boat brought in. The guy held it the entire time, rushed us thru a picture and then the second boat and the one stingray disappeared. The stingray was never even let go to actually swim and there was only one, and it was only there for probably 10 minutes. Swimming with wild stingrays was the whole point of us taking this excursion. We later heard that only the first boat of the day attracts the stingrays. Very misleading and not worth the price.
First of all I'm really sorry that your day was ruined because you only saw one Stingray at Stingray City. Stingray city is just one of the many highlights of the xtreme circumvariation tour. The snorkeling a pillars of Hercules is really so much fun and we often see rays and turtles there as well. I would make a guess that you did not snorkel there. A deserted Beach stop is the highlight of this excursion from many people and this was lost on you. Doing a second navigation so you can see the entire Island with commentary from really lovely captain and crew was also not part of your enjoyment. The historical talk of Nelson's dockyard no good for you. That you only saw one Ray made your whole experience disappointing and one that makes you feel the need to recommend people avoid this tour. This is Extreme and not the xtreme that we know. With all that said, it is not true that the first vessel of the day sees the Rays and nobody else does. I'm not sure who told you that but that was some kind of weird excuse that is not true. The Rays are free to swim wherever they want to and while we would love to have ai-controlled Ray drones that we can guarantee the same experience every single day, this is far from the reality. Rays swim from one end of the large Park to the other and while you are on one side with one Ray there could be many on the other side which is why you're supposed to swim around the park with our guys after taking photos if you want to with this Stingray City crew. When I go there I personally just go swimming and look for creatures including rays. Sometimes they're more and sometimes they're less. However letting that destroy any chance of you enjoying yourself is shortsighted and I'm really sorry that you had the experience you did. I will pass on your comments to the family that runs Stingray City.
My only regret in doing this excursion was we waited too long in our trip! I wish I would’ve done it our first or second day. It was an amazing tour with an amazing tour group. It was very fun and we learned so much about it. I would highly recommend doing this to anyone visiting the country. This was easily the best day we had in the country and the best experience we’ve had.
Our excursion was as amazing as we could have asked for. We did a circle around the entire island, and our guides were very knowledgeable about pointing out / telling us the history of different areas on the island. The highlight was Stingray City where we got the chance to swim with stingrays, get a picture taken holding one, and even feeding them. I would 100% recommend booking this experience. Just know ahead of time that the boats may be a bit fast, and sometimes the water can be a little choppy along the Atlantic side. Also, there don’t seem to be any restrooms throughout the duration of the trip. Other than that, it’s an experience that everyone would enjoy.
Great captain & adventure !!!
A great day out. The staff on the boat were very friendly and gave us lots of information about different we passed by. The first stop was stingray city. Felt a bit disappointed with this stop as the only stingray was that we saw was the one you held for a photo. Guess that’s nature!!! Had a lovely lunch and stop on green island. The snorkelling stop at pillars of Hercules was the highlight of the trip for us…absolutely amazing. The final stop was at pinches beach. Can be a bit choppy and you do get wet especially if you sit at the back of the boat! This just adds to the fun!! Would strongly recommend doing the trip.
Shout out to our guides, Brandon, Mac, and Javon. Knowledgeable, funny, and professional. Highly recommend this excursion for a fun day and a beautiful way to see the island.
We went on this tour Monday 22nd June and had the best experience. 5 stars 🌟 out of 5 stars 🌟 Our tour guides Makeva, Juovon, and especially Desmond who steered the boat were top class and provided a highly professional service. Boat 🚤 - The experience travelling around the island on the boat is just incredible - seeing the natural landscape, the beaches, the turtles 🐢 that pop up for air and also just the speed of the boat 🚤 is a thrill too 😎 Stingray City - We had never experienced being in the sea 🌊 with Stingrays swimming in between us, even though we both love the sea, we were a bit nervous about being in the sea with Stingrays swimming, however, the whole experience felt controlled and we never felt in danger or threatened, so highly recommend taking part in this section of the tour and don’t give in to your fears and just do it. Also note snorkel 🤿 gear is provided too so you don’t have to bring your own. Lunch & Green Island 🏝️- Lunch 🥗 was served on Green Island and the lunch was plentiful and delicious. We had garlic, Parmesan cheesy pasta, served with salad and tasty bbq 🍗 chicken 🍗 and plantain, with a cold soft drink. Some people took the opportunity to snorkel 🤿 too but we relaxed in the shade as it was so hot 🥵 and we saw lizards 🦎 and birds 🐦 flying around. Pillars of Hercules & English Harbour - This section of the tour was actually my favourite as Desmond took the opportunity to educate the people on the tour about the history of Antigua & Barbuda 🇦🇬 - specifically Desmond spoke about the English Harbour and Nelson’s Dockyard in relation to why it’s a unesco world heritage site. He spoke about specific events that occurred over the last 400/500 years and gave an in-depth overview about this area of Antigua. I really enjoyed learning and listening to Desmond as he showed a true passion for what he was talking about. We were then going to snorkel 🤿 at Pillars of Hercules however the sea was choppy, so we went to a different location, near Carlisle Bay to snorkel 🤿 which was a peaceful location. Rendezvous Beach 🏖️- As the sea was choppy we could not visit Rendezvous beach but instead visited Pinchin Beach 🏝️ which was incredible due to the views from the beach and the calm water. This beach can only be reached by boat 🚤 which made the whole experience feel unique and isolated. Rum 🍹 Punch was also an option for people as well as soft drinks. Overall - the whole experience was unique and we felt very lucky to be able to experience such a beautiful day on this wonderful tour.
Had such a great time on the Xtreme Circumnavigation Tour! Our tour had to change to a different day, than originally booked, but we were kindly provided a discount for changing days. Pick up was smooth. The 3 guides were so great! Every stop on the tour was beautiful and in between they gave us so much history on the island. They made every stop feel like it was exclusive. Lunch was on a beautiful beach and felt almost like a camping on the beach with friends. We got to snorkel 3 times. The day ended with all of the guest and guides singing happy birthday to my sister and I. It was such a perfect day! Thank you for everything. I def recommend this tour!
Capt Desmond knows his stuff. Having grown up around boats, he knows how to handle his. He made 20 mph winds feel easy. And his crew is great. They know their stuff and make you feel at home. Swam with turtles, starfish, shipwrecks, squid, and all sorts of fish. Great trip. Can't recomend enough. Then we finished the trip with our own private beach. Felt like we were on the local tour, not the cash grab tour like many others. Will take again the next time in the islands!!!
