We had five stops on this tour which were very different. Our tour guide Maggie was engaging and knowledgeable. We saw interesting shopping areas and historic buildings along the way. Maggie also shared details of life as a local of Porto. My only comment in ways to improve this, was that due to the messaging I didn’t realize this was a private tour. I am one of those people that would rather take a food tour with a group. My husband and I were the only ones eating and that felt a little awkward at times.
Maggie was really knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. We learned lots about Porto, the food and wine.
Igor was an amazing guide! Friendly, informative and engaging. Wonderful experience, he also gave recommendations of additional sites. Appreciated knowledge of all of the history and supporting small multi-generational businesses. Thank you Igor!
Igor Machiavelo is an amazing guy with a lot of information and sense of humor which make the tour very friendly and interesting I like it so much and would definitely recommend it We’ve tried lot of Portugese food and wine and knowing more about culture and tradition with Igor make it more interesting and fun
Cristobal was great—very knowledgeable about the history of Porto. All of the good and drinks were very good. He gave us several recommendations of restaurants and bars to visit (besides the ones we went to on the tour). Lots of hill walking! 😊
Our food tasting tour in Porto was a wonderful experience, largely thanks to our guide, Margarida "Maggie"! She has an incredibly engaging and informative personality that made the evening both fun and relaxed. The food was very good and gave us a nice introduction to Porto's culinary scene. Along the way, Maggie shared fascinating bits of local history that gave us a deeper appreciation for the areas we walked through. To top it all off, she sent us a comprehensive list of personal recommendations for the following days, which was incredibly helpful for the rest of our time in the city. If you want good food, a bit of history, and an excellent local guide, this tour is definitely worth booking!
I enjoyed this food tour. Beatrice was an expert on the food and drinks. I suggest changing the order of the stops to mirror a meal. For example, if there are five places start with a drink, then starter, then another starter, then main dish, then coffee and dessert. My favorite stop was the first one where we tried 3 different foods. The charcuterie was nice too. The coffee and pastel de nata were not that exciting because I’d had them both many times before. Overall it’s good value for the money and a good introduction to the cuisine of Portugal - oh and add franceschina! Thank you!
Guide Anita was attentive and knowledgeable about the local food and history of Porto. Love the practice of supporting the local small businesses.
Incredible tour with our guide Ana! She gave some many stories about the history of Porto, Portugal, the food, the wine, and everything in between. Great opportunity, especially for those with curious taste buds.
We had a great time and our guide was authentically local, engaging, and entertaining. Highly recommend.
