We had an amazing time making Pesto! First, I am never one to try something new and I had it in my mind that I did not like pesto but was up for the pesto making class. What an experience, Yvonne made it all fun and she was easy to follow along with. I love Pesto now! It is a bit of a walk up the hill to get to her shop but well worth it!
I’m Very happy!! Now you are expert… Yvonne
Yvonne did an excellent job with the history of the ingredients as well as teaching us how to make the most flavorable pesto. Treat at the end. One of our favourite activities during our visit! Gracie!
Thank you Very much!! ❤️Yvonne
Yvonne welcomed us into her well-kept and cozy place, and guided us step by step in preparing the authentic Ligurian pesto made to perfection. The explanation was clear, detailed, and rich in curiosities about the ingredients and the tradition, focusing on every detail with great passion and expertise. She provided us with everything necessary to prepare the pesto, and at the end of the experience, we were able to enjoy it along with excellent focaccia, paired with a perfectly matched local wine. Yvonne is an exceptional host: friendly, engaging, enthusiastic, very knowledgeable, and able to make everyone feel at ease. An authentic, fun, and truly memorable experience, highly recommended!
It was AMAZING! We started with a storied past of how all the ingredients came together, and then we had very detailed instruction on making our own pesto. It tasted great, the conversation was awesome, and the glass of wine and focaccia (both locally made) were incredible. We would definitely go back!!!!
Mi fa piacere vi sia piaciuto!! Welcone in Liguria.
This was a great experience for our family of five. Our three boys (ages 15, 13 and 10) loved learning how to make the pesto and it wasn’t too complicated for them. The teacher was welcoming and friendly.
Grazie mille!!e buona vacanza
Incredible experience! The host was very knowledgeable and the pesto was excellent. Highly recommend.
Thank you Emily! Enjoy your trip Yvonne
The Cinque Terre is renowned not only for its wine production but also Pesto. The kitchen is situated beside the winery at the top of the Main Street beyond the beautiful church. It is furnished very traditionally including herbs & spices, local excellent Cinque Terre wine as well as the traditional pestle & mortar, essential tools in producing pesto. I must admit that initially I was rather apprehensive with my limited culinary skills but Yvonne was an excellent tutor guiding the group of aspiring pesto makers through the process adding helpful hints and advice. I have to admit that my wife’s pesto tasted so much better than mine. For the genuine Ligurian pesto I would definitely recommend this course
We did the most amazing pesto class in Manorola with Yvonne of @apiedecampu.experience. She was very knowledgeable, professional and fun, completely worth history and a slide show, and was encouraging during the pesto prep. The wine was also the perfect accompaniment. I highly recommend this class - and now I want to do the wine tour and tasting too!
Set out by train for the short ten minutes journey from La Spezia to Manarola. Strolled up the hill from the train station for about fifteen minutes. Just before reaching the car park there is a pathway down a slight hill to the left - take that and you will arrive at A Pie De Campu. Yvonne was lovely, friendly and very knowledgeable - we learned a lot about making pesto and the importance of using good quality ingredients in the right proportions. We sampled our own hand made pesto with fresh focaccia - absolutely delicious and lovely wine from the region. Thanks for such a wonderful experience. A must for cooking enthusiasts.
