We had the best time on the Authentic Market Food Tour in Portimão! We spend a lot of time in Portimão as part-time residents and booked this tour specifically to get more comfortable, learn more about Portuguese food, and gain some confidence. Isabel was warm, welcoming, and very patient. She made us feel comfortable asking every basic question we had, and she answered each one with genuine warmth and zero judgment. We tried an amazing variety of fresh, high-quality traditional Portuguese foods and local specialties that we never would have discovered on our own. Not only did Isabel take us to authentic local spots during the tour, but she also gave us many fantastic recommendations to explore on our own. If you’re visiting and want a delicious taste of authentic Algarve culture, or even if you live here, do not hesitate to book this tour!

We had an awesome experience in Portimão all thanks to Isabel! She is so knowledgeable about the history of Portugal and the food and made the tour lots of fun! The food included all was amazing and delicious. Definitely recommend while you’re in the Algarve!

Great experience. Isabel was very friendly and knowledgeable. She brought us through to many different locations to know and taste a variety of foods in the market and surrounding area. My feedback for the future would be that we could have spent a bit more time at the sit down meal parts of the tour-it was nice to sit and talk and eat/drink and when we tried the “surf and turf” I would suggest ordering less and maybe ordering half of another dish vs just all one dish for everyone. These were just small things we noticed and didn’t impact our overall tour in a big way. Overall though I highly recommend Isabel’s tours. She was very easy to talk to and welcoming. We enjoyed a lot of the food, there was excellent variety and learned a lot about local dishes from savoury to sweet!

I have been on several food tours around the world, but this one might have been the absolute best! Isabel is not only an exceptional guide, but she is also just a truly wonderful, lovely person. She did an incredible job of giving us a rich, authentic flavor of both the local food and the culture. We had a group of ten, and Isabel accommodated our various allergies and gluten-free needs seamlessly without missing a beat. Everything we tasted was incredibly delicious, and the wine/drink pairings were spectacular. Everyone in our group absolutely loved every minute of it. I really cannot say enough great things about Isabel. She is fun, incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and so warm. If you are considering booking this tour, do not hesitate! This was our first ever food tour and we weren’t sure what to expect but what can I say other than it was fantastic. Isabel is such a lovely friendly person she makes you feel so at ease and keeps the chat going as you wander from place to place trying lots of different foods. We enjoyed one of the restaurants so much we went back by ourselves two days later. If you do anything while in Portimao book this tour you won’t regret it.

Isabel is absolutely wonderful! We just finished our tour with her and it was such a highlight of our trip. She was fun, knowledgeable and so engaging. She accommodated our allergies and gluten issues with no issue at all. And oh my goodness, it was so DELICIOUS! Such wonderful food and wine! Everyone in our group of ten loved it! I really couldn’t recommend her more!

An amazing afternoon! Isabel was a wonderful guide - friendly, knowledgeable, and very passionate about sharing the culture and local knowledge. The tour took us to several local spots that we would never have discovered on our own and Isabel explained the history behind many of the dishes and ingredients, which made the experience even more interesting. There was a great variety of dishes to try and they were all delicious!! There were just two of us on this tour so the pace was relaxed and we really got to know Isabel. If you're visiting Portimão we highly recommend 👌🤩

Isabel was really great, very bubbly and made me feel included within the group of other couples/family. She spoke to everyone and was well informed about the food we tried and the places we went. The great thing about this tour is we were provided with lots of small tasters of various portuguese foods which all tasted amazing and very much filled me up by the end! Would highly recomend this tour, was lovely to meet new people, see the town and try authentic food :)
