Laissez-vous éblouir par plus de 1 500 papillons tropicaux de couleur bijou au refuge des papillons d'Australie. Situé au cœur du Kuranda, le sanctuaire australien des papillons est la plus grande volière de vol de papillons en Australie. Promenez-vous dans les jardins paysagers qui reproduisent l'environnement naturel de la forêt tropicale humide tandis que des centaines de papillons flottent autour de vous, y compris le vert vibrant Cairns Birdwing. Des visites gratuites ont lieu toute la journée et une visite des coulisses du laboratoire est également incluse avec l'entrée. Promenade de plantes alimentaires gratuite également incluse.

Promenez-vous dans la volière de la forêt tropicale où des papillons de la couleur d'un joyau flottent dans les airs. Découvrez l'aile des oiseaux vert et jaune fluorescent de Cairns, le papillon bleu vibrant et bien plus encore! Le sanctuaire abrite plus de 1500 papillons qui ont tous été élevés à la main sur les lieux. Visitez le laboratoire et apprenez-en davantage sur le cycle de reproduction, voyez comment les œufs de papillon sont collectés et nettoyés, puis remontés à la main dans des chenilles avant de devenir de magnifiques papillons. Le musée présente de nombreuses espèces différentes du monde entier. N'oubliez pas de voir l'exposition sur le papillon de nuit, qui abrite le papillon Hercules, dont la portée des ailes atteint 36 cm.

Such a fun experience in Kuranda! We opted to do this instead of the Koala preserve or Bird sanctuary. It was so fun to see the whole process of their sanctuary, and a beautiful large area to walk through with butterflies. Not too crowded, just a lovely spot.

Butterflies were great to see at the Australian butterfly. My son had worked out skill to get butterfly to land on target!
The experience was very disappointing and the admission fee didn’t justify the experience. May daughter and I expected to see a wide range of butterflies but this simply wasn’t the case. It was a small area with many of the same species of butterfly. Our visit was short as a result. Sorry but we couldn’t recommend visiting the butterfly sanctuary.

Two adults and one teen son had the best time. The butterfly's were very active and do land on you. I also payed to release a butterfly which had just came out of its cocoon. It felt wonderful to release a butterfly out into the house for everyone to enjoy. Love butterfly's and this was the best place. The staff are friendly.

What a lovely so and so peaceful. The butterflies are very active in the day time and they do land on you if you stand still. There are plenty of butterflies to see and admire. A very good compound.

Went there while spending a day in Kuranda on a tour... There were very little different species there but ok just to spend a short time, nothing special but if u have kids , they will enjoy it.

Beautiful Butterfly House. We were disappointed there were no Ulysses Butterflies in the aviary like the information pamphlet shows. I still recommend going as the aviary is beautiful with other butterflies 🦋
What a beautiful place to go, even in the rain. So many beautiful butterflies! And when it's raining they are low down and easier to see on the leaves and in the feeding stations. The staff are friendly and very informative about butterflies! Highly recommend a visit.

Fantastic! What a place to see beautiful butterflies!🦋 they wee gorgeous! Enclosure was warm so bring water. The butterflies land on you. Great photo ops. There is also a butterfly museum with some gorgeous big butterflies and moths. Really well worth the visit.
