Athens Sights & Sounion (Temple de Poséidon) - Visite privée d'une journée

No. the focus of this trip was clearly supposed to be the Acropolis. The day we went was a national holiday so my guide decided we would go to Sounion first and would end the day at the Acropolis. But when we got to the Acropolis, they were out of tickets. In short, a tour we wanted to focus on the Acropolis did not include the Acropolis. I will be demanding Trip Advisor to refund half the money.

Wonderful experience. Our driver, George, was most gracious, knowledgeable and accommodating. Very convenient way to see so many Athens sights; certainly never could have done all this jumping in and out of taxis all day, to say the least. Drive down to Poseidon Temple was long, but sights along the way also made it interesting. Ended the trip with a delightful luncheon at a local seaside fish restaurant, looking up at the Temple. Perfect ending to a great day!

Apostolis is an absolute pro. If I ever come back to Athens I hope I get to have him take me around again.

My husband and I went on the half day private tour of Poseidon at Sunset on May 10, 2025. George was our tour guide and he was excellent! He was funny, knowledgeable, and answered every question we had. We could tell that he loved Athens and its surrounding areas and so we did too! It was catching. The scenery was beautiful, the history was interesting, and George made it fun!! We highly recommend this tour with George.

We had a great day with Theodore. He looked after us all day and took us to some places we didn't expect to see as well. Saw all the sights we wanted, plus more. The sedan was very comfortable and great air con as it was very warm in Athens. We also stopped for food and drink recommended by Theodore which was excellent. We would definitely use this company again. Thanks for a great time.

Private tour booked with JG Athens Tours - Full day Athens Sightseeing & Cape Sounion/Temple of Poseidon Tour. Early ship arrival at 6:30 am. All clear for disembarking was given at 7:30, and we were among the first few off to meet our guide George, who was waiting with a sign for us right outside the terminal. We immediately departed and were taken directly to the Acropolis, where we could view or tour. We could decide how much time we wanted to spend at each location. We made several more stops throughout the day, with great information, direction, history and mythology from George. There were even DVD presentations while driving to sites, which would tell you about sites before arrival. We wanted authentic Greek home style food, and were taken to a wonderful family run tavern on the outskirts of Athens. We feasted! It was fresh, delicious and very affordable. We had some time in Old Town, and also visited a local bakery (our request). This tour included all the sites mentioned in tour description, and a few additional requests. The tour was totally customized. We had a comfortable car with cold A/C in August, a very friendly, professional and knowledgeable driver, and saw so much in 7+ hours. We were back on our ship by 3:00 pm. I highly recommend JG Athens Tours for professional service and a memorable day in Athens.

Very attentive service with a great mix of history and regional knowledge. Well paced and a good amount of time given in each location.

We booked with JG based on a recommendation from a friend and are very glad we did. Communication prior to arriving was excellent. Our driver, George, was waiting for us as soon as we walked off the ship. He catered the day to whatever we wanted to do while also providing his recommendations of what would work best. We had a small initial delay right when we started due to the police requiring paperwork from the tour operators (this seemed to be a common thing). Then we were off to the Acropolis. I was appreciative of how George provided video in the car (drop down in the back and in the dash up front) that provided some historical reference to the various places we were viewing. I thought that was definitely going above and beyond and it was also incredibly helpful. My oldest daughter wanted to visit a beach there so we drove outside the city with plans to stop at one on the way to Cape Sounion. When my daughter discovered her bathing suit strap had broke, George was kind enough to take us somewhere so she could get another one. The highlight of the trip for me was Cape Sounion. As stunning as it was, there were hardly any people there and it was wonderful. We enjoyed lunch at a restaurant at the base of it that George had recommended. The city of Athens seemed rather hectic so it was nice driving to Cape Sounion and seeing a more subdued side of the area. George got us back to our ship in plenty of time and overall it was a delightful day. I wouldn't hesitate to book again and would definitely recommend!

JG Athens did a great job with communications, very responsive and accommodating. I made my reservation 7 months out. Our driver Andreas provided good information on our drive. The restaurant recommended for lunch in Sounion was fantastic. The tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable. I appreciated the fact I didn't have to pay until end of tour. The vehicle was clean and provided plenty of water. I also used JG Athens for the Corinth half day private tour. I would use this company again.

You get to see a lot of historic sites on this tour. John was very resourceful and passionate.He was very hospitable.Our first time in Athens is unforgettable.I would highly recommend this tour.
