Description
Explorez les marchés alimentaires d'Athènes lors d'une visite à pied de 4 heures et dégustez quelques-unes des délicieuses friandises proposées. Commencez par un petit-déjeuner grec traditionnel composé de koulóuria (rondelles de pain au sésame), puis dirigez-vous vers une pâtisserie centenaire pour déguster des loukoumades (beignets grecs) et des carrés de filo fourrés à la crème anglaise. Dégustez des tartes et des fromages locaux dans d'authentiques boulangeries grecques. Promenez-vous ensuite dans le marché aux viandes et aux poissons, les marchés monuments vivants de la ville. Essayez le café torréfié chez l'un des plus anciens torréfacteurs du centre-ville. Dégustez du vin local, de l'huile d'olive et du miel de produits biologiques, du vinaigre aromatisé vieux de sept ans et du yaourt grec de renommée mondiale dans une petite boutique qui vend des cadeaux fantastiques pour vos amis restés chez vous. Promenez-vous dans la rue Evripidou, parfumée aux herbes. Visitez une taverne locale et explorez les assiettes mezedes (tapas locaux). Terminez ensuite votre exploration culinaire en dégustant le célèbre souvlaki grec avec des gyros de poulet ou de porc (les végétariens sont les bienvenus, les plats sans gluten ne peuvent pas être acceptés).

Nasos handsdown made this one of the best experiences. Like please make sure you come hungry because we barely could take a bite at the last stop. This is def bang for your buck. He take you through smaller neighborhoods and you can see the freshness...and the people at the places he took us too were all so nice!
Nasos took us to some amazingly delicious restaurants and provided some history with each stop. We were also able to experience the produce and meat markets. Very appreciative to him for allowing me to stop and buy so much at the market 💙
Our guide Tonia was very kind, lovely and considerate to all the guests. I also had a lovely bunch of people! I really enjoyed Greek authentic dishes of breakfast-lunch-dinner in 4 hours & chatting with other guests. The pacing was great, the plastic bag and water were provided at the beginning, so that we can carry our leftover Koulouri Thessalonikis(to dip into olive oil for later on - very clever!!) while continuing our waking gourmet tour.
Giannis our guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and friendly, went out of his way throughout the tour to make it a wonderful experience . Don't eat breakfast. The amount of food we had was more than filling right through from sweet to savoury. Definitely worth the trip! Visited about eight different places including fish and meat markets. We are both foodies. Came away very satisfied after 4 hours of walking the streets of Athens.
Excellent and wear good walking shoes.They supply plenty of water so no need to carry you own. An extensive array of foods and local eateries.
This was an excellent tour. The food was fantastic and there was a lot of it.! Our guide, Ana, was great. She was knowledgeable, engaging and extremely organized. The small group of nice people was the right size for our 6 stops. Delicious and fun! Highly recommended!
The Athens Gourmet Food Small Group Walking Tour was a fantastic introduction to both Athens and Greek cuisine. The food itself was wonderful, with generous tastings that showcased a great variety of local specialties, and Peter was a fantastic guide—knowledgeable, engaging, and fun. We’ve learned to start our trips with a food tour, and this one truly set the stage for a wonderful stay in Athens. It also gave us a real sense of the city centre and we even went back to a couple of the places we especially liked. We honestly can’t say enough about this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Athens.

The food walking tour was brilliant, and our guide Adele was fantastic, she gave us so much information not just about the food but Greek culture and history as well. We ate very well and we certainly didn’t need anything else to eat that evening! We would whole heartedly recommend this tour.
Fabulous way to understand the greek way of life. Food is part of a social activity and takes place over many traditional dishes. Our excellent and knowledgable guide Peggy selected dishes we wouldn't have known about.
