Atelier de Mosaïque à Marrakech

A moment of rare richness that we spent during this workshop discovering a piece of Moroccan craftsmanship. We were contacted the day before to organize the transport, very easily. Then departure at the indicated time to the workshop a few kilometers from Marrakech for this very personalized moment. History of the mosaic, how it is created, shaped, and structured. Then it was our turn, and we got a real dose of humility because the work is so meticulous, and we realized all the skills and experience required. We left with a very enriching immersive experience, a mosaic made by us, and very beautiful memories. A big thank you for this time with you. We recommend it without hesitation.

The artisan showed us how he made each of the parts of the mosaic piece by piece, how the mosaics were made, and in the end, he helped us assemble our own tile that he gave us as a gift, just like the ones we made at the beginning. The gentleman is very kind and you can really tell the appreciation he has for the art he makes. The guide who translates it is also very kind and takes photos of us during the experience, which is appreciated.

Mr Sediq and Abdel were very warm, welcoming hosts for the morning. Abdel picked me up in the morning with no hassle and was also translator for the artist himself Mr Sediq, who was very patient and encouraging with me who had no experience whatsoever. The workshop gave me a greater understanding and appreciation for the beautiful artwork we see all around Marrakech, and when I realised how difficult it was to do in practice I was left even more impressed. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Marrakech, something different and hands on and with great hosts.

Worth the price we paid, really great and interesting experience, would recommend! The mosaics we made and got to take home were great and we were guided through each step of the process, as we went in August it was just us. Highly enjoyed experience and extremely worthwhile. The visit was the perfect length and the staff were wonderful going above and beyond! We went as a family but I think it’s best for anyone who wants to learn more about tiles or just have fun.

The craftsman was extremely patient with children, constantly working with our rather large group, talented and did his best to see our mosaics were lovely. The driver was also friendly and found a location near our Riad that was closer than any of our other pickups plus his van was the best air conditioning we experienced in Marrakech! The sweet tea served after our mosaics was a big hit with the children. I would highly recommend this activity.

Both the guide Otmane and the artist and teacher Mr. Sadiq have made this workshop a complete experience. We recommend that everyone who has the opportunity and time do this activity; it is a real pleasure.

Amazing experience. Abdel is a great translator, very polite and he took care of us all the time. We loved that we not only watched how a mosaic is made, but tried to complete each step of the process ourselves which was not always easy but made the experience really special. Another special detail is that the master invited us for a tea in the end of the workshop and we had a nice chat and asked our questions. Recommended for anyone who looking for an authentic experience.
