Mary was terrific. The history of Asheville is fascinating and she is a wealth of knowledge. This tour for the price feels like a steal!
Wonderful tour with Mary!! My friends and I learned so much about Asheville and appreciated her insight into local happenings!! Thanks Mary- wonderful!!
Fair. Good route around a small portion of downtown Ashville. The guide was weak and quite opinionated. If there is a next time, I will insist on a younger guide.
I highly recommend this tour. Asheville was brought to life for us by our guide Tebbe. My sister and I were lucky enough to book a private walking tour, and it was the highlight of our visit to Asheville. Tebbe is a masterful storyteller with a deep command of Asheville's history, economics, and politics, and he weaves them all together to bring the city to life. He traced Asheville's story from its Native American highway of towns spaced 20 miles apart, through every boom, bust, and upheaval, right up to the residential growth reshaping the city today. What could have been a dry history lesson of dates and buildings became a beautifully described story of how Asheville became the city it is now. Tebbe was incredibly patient with our questions, genuinely engaged with our curiosity, and made the tour feel like a conversation with a new friend rather than a scripted presentation. We found ourselves completely drawn into his stories. This tour sticks out as probably the best city walking tour I've ever taken.
The walking tour showed a lot of Asheville that we may have missed walking around on our own. Our guide was knowledgeable about the very interesting history of Asheville and helpful to point out good places to eat and shop.
Tevy was well-informed and had a good sense of humor which made the tour more interesting. We had a good time!
Be prepared to be left on the other side of downtown & find your way back to where the tour began. Otherwise, the tour was great. Lots of good information and interesting stories.
We truly enjoyed our history walk with Tebby. We learned so much about Asheville and her history, and Tebby knew it all! It was a delightful two hours that I'm really glad we did.
A lot of easy walking involved. Very detailed information on the development of Asheville, could have gone on longer but I was starting with a sinus headache.
Great tour w Mary and learned so much about the history and architecture of the city and the roots of its arts culture.
