Everything was well organized. The reindeer farm was a lovely piece of Finnish culture. Husky ride was a great adventure
It was a great experience riding reindeer sleds, feeding reindeer and petting them. And also to learn a lot about reindeer in Lapland. However, good English is a prerequisite. It goes without saying that you can't pet huskys, but the sleigh ride was also great. We were also well supplied with apple and blueberry tea and cookies. A really nice experience-seehighly recommended.
Started the day with an easy pickup from the hotel. The tour guide 9 Feb was very friendly and a good sense of humour. Reindeer sledding was awesome - they have so much personality. It was about a 500m circuit and extremely picturesque. You either get a reindeer that is very fast and energetic, or more slow and you can take the sights in. From there you feed the reindeers and they love their snack time. Additional opportunity to get more photos and videos. From there you go inside and learn more about the history with a tea and biscuit. Afterwards it’s a drive back to Santa Claus village for the huskies. The huskies are really funny and energetic. Be careful when getting in the sled as it is slippery. It is a bumpy ride - the sled lifts from the ground and hits the floor so be mindful - not so smooth sailing however it was no issue for me, it was very fun and enjoyable. After the huskie sled, the owner of the huskies stayed back and told us more about the huskies and allowed us to ask any questions. Couldn’t fault the activity, it was amazing insight. Afterwsrds, you finish by the fire pit and have warmed apple juice and cinnamon biscuits. Yum!
My husband and I enjoyed this small group tour of the reindeer farm and the husky adventure. It had snowed the night before and snowed throughout our tour, which actually added to the experience. Our guide was Victor, and he was awesome; very friendly and knowledgeable, and did all he could to ensure the group enjoyed the tour. We enjoyed the interactions with the animals and the short but very pleasant sleigh rides with both the reindeer and the huskies. These rides are intentionally short which was perfect for us. Other tours offer longer sleigh ride experiences if that is what you are looking for. We wanted some nice photos and a pleasant, comfortable ride, and that is what we got.
We had great communication and our guide was fantastic. He had us everywhere we needed to be, on time, and was very well organized. He also answered a lot of our questions about Finland. Our only demerit is the experiences we had were a little short for the price so the value seemed off. However, it’s a very tourist heavy place so I understand that it’s not all within their control. I would rate more like 4.75 if that was an option.
The tour organized by Nordic Adventures Oy was really satisfying. We were promptly picked up by Mr. Jaco, who accompanied us first to the reindeer farm and then to the husky farm. Both experiences were fantastic and, if you have children, I highly recommend them. All were very friendly, kind and helpful to provide any kind of explanation. Special praise goes to our driver Jaco, who waited for us with great patience, told us many details about the tour and the places visited, and brought us back to the hotel on time. Very artificial. The reindeer ride is ridiculously short and to feed them there is a fence and you spend no more than 5 minutes doing it. The explanation after is good, but definitely is not worth the price. The huskies ride was the worst, it is not in the forest, it is around the Santa Claus village, so you see fences, road lights and everything during the ride, it is ridiculous. The dogs look very mistreated, they cry and bark all the time. I have done both tours before in Norway and they were waaaaay different. I would definitely not do it again or recommend
I'm mixed on this experience. I still put 4 stars because the staff was very kind but I found that the expedition remains very expeditious. The reindeer part is very good but much too short and the same for dogs we arrive put in the sled and it’s over... and the big negative for me is that I have big doubts about the quality of treatment on dogs sled... Apart from that, it's still fantastic scenery and unique experiences
Experience absolutely to be redone. The well-organized tour operator in particular our guide Mattia, very prepared and competent with explanations in detail has rest this experience even more unique. See you soon ❤️
We did the arctic animals safari and found it a little disappointing.... The reindeer park was lovely and really enjoyed it although jt wasnt a "self driving trip" as advertised. Someone walks the reindeer along whilst you sit in the sledge. But we all enjoyed the reindeer alot. Feeding then etc was fun and we learnt alot about them. The husky part however, was the most disappointing. It was at husky park in santa village. Nothing was as advertised and we felt more like in a conveyor belt to get in and hurry up and get out (as clearly the tour operator had another trip). The husky ride isn't on a proper sleigh but on wheels (this may have been due to not enough snow however). We didn't get a tour of the kennel. And the "unique chance to pet the dogs" involved one dog in the hut at the end where we had hot drinks and there were about 15 people to one dog. We didn't question it at the time as didn't know the tour had ended once we sat down in thr hut. No information was given by the guide. In summary I wouldn't chose husky encounter with this operator. You would be better off sorting it out privately if you want a truly engaging husky trip and perhaps a more private husky farm to have a nicer experience. Kids had a good time nonetheless but adults felt disappointed as the trip was falsely advertised.
